World’s Biggest Gas Companies Exit California—Valero Shutdown to Cut 2 Billion Gallons of Fuel Supply
https://www.msn.com/en- us/m...cb8a16&ei=14#image=9
This quote is from the middle of the article. The Governor should be so proud. He's supported all this
| quote | Why The Exit?
Valero has faced rising expenses tied to California's ambitious environmental regulations, legal disputes, and compliance upgrades. Executives say the regulatory environment has become structurally unworkable, despite negotiations with state officials.
A spokesperson acknowledged the company worked toward solutions, but "nothing has materialized" to keep Benicia operational. The message is clear: costs have eclipsed the benefits of staying — even for a major global player.

I actually feel bad for CA residents/drivers but, you get the leadership you elect. This Governor wants to be our next President. Consider that!

The loss of refinery capacity is causing a panic among the Democrats. They are trying incentivize someone, anyone to buy the refinery and keep it operating. It is no secret that not only is the Democrat run California government very anti-business they are extremely anti-petroleum.
I expect very high gasoline prices in the near future, probably in the $8+/gallon price. We will see what happens. Maybe CARB will cave in get rid of the special California blend of fuel that has to be refined in state. Then gasoline can be purchased from surrounding states which will help mitigate some of the cost. If the price of gas skyrockets, there will be voter blow-back against the Democrats.
Personally I have already reduced my driving dramatically. I drive about 1,500 miles a year. I only fill up my gas tank about every other month. High gas prices will not be pleasant but it won't break my bank account.

I suspect many will be following your lead. Hopefully, CA voters will figure out where the problem is. (Although, I have significant doubts about that.

Unfortunately, CA Liberals {in general} follow their party and always blame 'everything' on the other side of the aisle...

Well, that brings up another problem, both Harris and Newsom want to be the Dem's candidate for the Oval Office. I suspect that negotiations are ongoing as to who will be on top (of the ticket).
My Lord, what an ugly thought.............................. Sorry about that.

Proposition 50 of Redistricting Measure in California is the next race on Nov 4th, 2025
The Liberals raised $114.3 million to shift five of California's U.S. House seats as the next BIG race is 'who' wins in the midterms.
All 435 seats in the House and 35 seats in the Senate will be contested to determine the 120th United States Congress.
IF the Left wins...YES:

Not to mention that California's violation of Federal law regarding CDL licenses to foreign drivers has been wrecking the trucking industry and killing people on the highways.....

Yes, Prop 50 has significant stakes far beyond California’s borders!
THEY want to stop President Donald Trump’s 'common sense' agenda and then control the federal government in 2029....[This message has been edited by Vintage-Nut (edited 10-28-2025).]

There are reports of other states addressing these fraudulent CDLs with those possessing the CA CDLs being questioned in English and asked to read and know different signage on the road. Those failing are not allowed to continue. It's also been reported that FL is suing CA due to a non-English speaking driver with a CA CDL being directly responsible for killing three people while operating a semi-tractor/trailer. Federal law is very clear about this, CA leadership doesn't seem to give a damn about public safety.

Absolutely no doubt about what the Left is attempting.
Only US citizens should be counted in our Census/population counts and let the chips fall where they may. Counting illegal aliens for representation in Congress is manipulating the system and should not be allowed.

I guess counting them at the rate of 3/5 would be too obvious a compromise ...
