A nationwide "No Kings" protest is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, with thousands of demonstrations planned in cities and towns across the country.
Organizers, including a coalition of groups like the ACLU and Indivisible, expect millions to attend these peaceful rallies and marches.

Purpose and focus of the protest
The protests are organized in opposition to the administration of President Donald Trump, citing concerns over what organizers describe as authoritarian excesses, democratic backsliding, and perceived abuses of power.
According to the official "No Kings" website, the events are meant to remind the government that "America has no kings, and the power belongs to the people". Specific issues highlighted include:
Increased immigration enforcement.
The deployment of National Guard and federal law enforcement troops in U.S. cities.
A broader opposition to the administration's overall agenda.
The event follows a similar protest held in June 2025.

Event details
Widespread participation: Protests are scheduled in at least 2,500 locations, with events happening in all 50 states.
Grassroots organization: Events are organized by local volunteers, activists, and community members, not paid protesters.
Peaceful demonstration: The "No Kings" movement is committed to nonviolent action and has offered training on de-escalation for local organizers.
What to expect: Organizers have described the events as peaceful, boisterous, and joyful, with protesters encouraged to create signs and participate in chanting and singing.

Political context
Government shutdown: The protests are taking place amid a government shutdown, though protest leaders say their movement is not a factor in the shutdown negotiations.
Differing reactions: While some Democratic politicians have voiced support for the rallies, Republican leaders have been critical, with some referring to them as "hate America" rallies.

Looks like insurrection. Lets just hope it doesn't get violent.

Uh, if we had a 'King', wouldn't the protest be banned?

Millions of illegals, the zombies off meth, dopers, dupes, iQ disabled, morons, Dempartie_Nazi_Hamas_Communists, convicts, prisoners, issued their picks and shovels, ready to begin their seven year sentences, of indentured labor in the quarries, excavating, pulverizing, building the Walls.
How happy they will be, doing what they were told to do, unable to think for themselves, directed by others, ' Da.. Da.. Da.. ' ' Do.. Do.. Do.. '

What a whirlwind of action, protesting in Chicago on Saturday, arriving at the mine on Thursday, exhausted by the railway trip, sleeping in the tents for two days.
Rehabilitation, 20-30 million, learning the truth.

Are you suggesting protests don't take place in England?

Tune in tomorrow.

It's ironic that the majority of people attending the so-called "no kings" protests were OK with Kamala Harris being appointed by decree as their candidate for president despite a long established democratic primary vote process.

As witnessed here on this Forum, and worldwide, irony is lost on a certain (small) segment of the population.
