Just curious, how do you feel about the CA NG being deployed to LA, CA? (Page 1/5)

Just as the title asks, how do you see the CA NG deployment to support the LA PD and HP to support ICE roundups?

When protests turn into riots, it is needed. There are arguments that it is much worse than just a riot. Foreign nationals illegally here are waving their foreign flags are assaulting law enforcement, vandalizing and looting. Would any of their home countries tolerate that? If they are so proud of their home countries, why are they demanding that they not be returned there?

But, Gov. Newsom says the NG were not needed and are only inciting more violence........................

The lack of support for ICE and his own citizens/LEOs is a bit surprising for me but, I'm not there. My son is a FF/Para-Medic with Memphis, a couple weeks ago there was a firefight between gangs right in front of his station. Automatic weapons were in use. They watched the majority of the conflict behind their bullet proof glass windows. When the PD finally arrived (after it was all over) the station crew responded. My son went to the first body to render aid. There was nothing he could do, the dude had 36 bullet holes with the last one fired into the dude's forehead. The other body had about 40 bullet wounds. The Director of the FBI tells us that Memphis is the Murder Capital of the US (per population). We all wish the TN NG would be deployed in certain parts of Memphis.

Society needs rules, without them we have what we have in LA. When those that are elected don't enforce those rules or chose to flat out break them we have what we are seeing now.
This is my backyard, for now. Let's hope they don't burn it down.
Let's hope those in charge don't consider Long Beach and acceptable loss. Going to go fuel up the cars after work.
The governor should have ordered the NG to stop this before it got to this point. There is no acceptable loss in this "peaceful" protest.
One fire in the wrong location and we could lose a lot more than some illegal trespassers and protesters that I suspect are also trespassers.
Call it what it is, this is a war. These invaders you see setting fires and throwing rocks. They are not part of society, they are the issue.

There has got to be a better way. I have no problem with immigrants coming here and having a life, but I also want my neighbors to also be able to provide for their families.
The contractor down the street says he is always getting out bid, the only way that happens is due to the cost of labor. It's time we made it fair across the board.

I recently had a 30X40 ft metal shop erected, due to contractors on the concrete, it took a long time to get the concrete completed. I fired the first contractor because he lied and refuse to follow code and always took the easy way to get it done even though his way weaken the entire structure and would not pass code. Regardless, I ordered and paid for my building, the manufacturer would not produce the building until I sent them a picture of a finished slab. Well, that was finally accomplished. The crew arrived with my builder and not one of them spoke English. I called the company and they assured me that the crew was all legal but, I had no proof. I registered a complaint with the "company" but, I doubt it would make a difference. I can't tell you how frustrating it was to try and give instructions on things when both parties don't speak the same language. When I was in Korea, I learned enough Korean to get by. This crew should have had and English speaking team leader.

I also have no issues with "legal immigration". But, I had a hard time finding contractors who would provide proof their crews were "legal" immigrants.

Being able to speak Spanish does not always help. My manager was in an auto accident last year. A guy in a pickup truck changed lanes into her car and did significant damage. The lug nuts in the truck's wheels also embedded themselves into her car's wheels so both vehicles were stuck together in the middle of I-5. She rolled down her window and called out to him. He said he only spoke Spanish. My manager is Peruvian so she started talking to him in Spanish. He just rolled up his window and refused to talk. She legally immigrated and hates the illegals who jump the line.

Turns out he is an illegal alien driving his boss's work truck. He had no drivers license and could not show insurance but for some reason the CHP let him go anyway. Uninsured motorist will have to cover her car but she is out her deductible, the time and hassle it will take to get her car repaired. Ultimately everyone end up paying for the accident since that is how insurance works.

Long story short, when it fits their needs, some people will use the language barrier to their advantage.

Honestly, I'm not in favor of using active duty troops for riot control. La has a huge police force and Calif Nat Guard. They need to handle their own problems.
