The mention of light bulbs brings up a story. I tried to order a 20 pack of Sylvania LED household bulbs on Ebay for $15 and free shipping. EVERYONE refunded my money (about 10 sellers) due to the "not for sale in California" bullshit. All because the bulbs didn't have the "Prop 65" warning on the package. The bulbs that did have the marking were $35 for a 20 pack. Complete bullshit. Glad to see at least some of the California Nazi's are waking up. Now we just need Leno's Law to pass.
And Newsom to vanish since he'll be fighting everything down to the wire.[This message has been edited by IMSA GT (edited 05-03-2025).]

Yes, MANY products can NOT be sold on-line because sellers won't pay the CA
The last Fiero part from RockAuto didn't sell me the part because it didn't have the certification.....
quote | If a product sold in California contains a chemical that is listed on the Prop 65 list of chemicals, a warning label will be required. Failure to comply with the Prop 65 regulations can result in a company being issued a “60-Day Notice” of non-compliance or “Notice of Violation” and the company can be taken to court if a settlement is not reached. Settlement fees can cost companies tens of thousands to as much as several hundred thousand dollars. Compliance with this {BS} regulation cannot be ignored. |

It gets lots better than that. Check out CRA 87, 88, and 89. All three have passed the house as of today.
Edit - Mea Culpa. I realized that my info is just an expansion, or different view, of what Vintage Nut posted. Still good news.
"Leno's Law", which I alluded to earlier, died in the California Bureacracy, this week. But if these CRAs pass the senate (which they are expected to) it will effectively take the wind out of CARB's sails, and roll back lots of automotive and diesel truck emissions regs.
I follow this guy fairly closely. He seems to have a really good idea of what's going on, and does a good job of explaining what's going on. He also has White House press credentials, so...
I mentioned the White House press credentials. He also has another - obviously political - channel that doesn't just deal with automotive stuff. https://www.youtube.com/@TheNewsWithTK[This message has been edited by Raydar (edited 05-03-2025).]

I watched some of it, they made a big show but then when it came time to step up no one showed up. Don't know what everyone was expecting, its CA after all. I think its way past time to have a class action against the state for not being able to maintain testing stations for older cars.

If these CRAs make it into law, it'll be a moot point, anyway.

Was Leno's Law struck down? I thought I saw that it passed Senate Committee last week, and I haven't seen anything online that says it was eliminated?

Yeah. California shelved/tabled/whatever - Leno's Law. I really didn't expect that it would pass, with those idiots. But you can always hope.

Not struck down but because it would have a significant financial impact it has to go before more committees, I believe that's what they said. That usually means it's not going anywhere. Anything that could impact CA's money coming in has a slim to none chance of being approved.

I might be a little bit premature (gotta hate when that happens) but it looks like it's happening.
...and the liberal press in California are pissed!
