It's over 30 million dollars...
Politico employees were getting paid directly by government funds, until Elon Musk's team put a freeze on USAID payments:

This initiated a tangential investigation in which DOGE discovered that millions upon millions of dollars had been funneled from dozens of agencies covertly to pay exclusively left-leaning news organizations for propaganda hit pieces...
This is not only Fraud, Waste, and Abuse, but actually totally illegal.

It's amazing how the Democratic leadership is simply going nuts over the information being discovered by Elon Musk and the authority he has been given by the President to search out waste and abuse of our money. Seriously, one actually claimed they were at War with Musk and basically DJT over this.
Following the money is getting a lot of attention, learning how some was spent should be every politician's concern but, it sure doesn't appear the Dems like what going on. Reportedly a huge amount of money was given to organizations that then took some of that money and paid for anti-DJT stories to be published. Made me immediately think of Hillary Clinton and how her organization did similar things. Dirty politicians should be prosecuted and jailed or worse. Some of the other programs where our money is being sent is simply outrageous as far as I'm concerned.

With everything you said... consider the fact that we actually won this last election. Let's just think about that for a minute. With so much power at their disposal... the only reason why we won is because a billionaire was able to continue to fend-off multiple kangaroo court cases, have the tenacity and drive to push through, AND... another billionaire had to open up one of the largest communications platform from content suppression.
But more importantly... the Democrats had absolute power, money funneling into every program you could possibly imagine. Over a dozen foreign billionaires funneling money into local and Federal elections. But we won because the Democrats screwed up SO horribly, that enough people were starting to realize... "Hey, things are going really bad right now... this isn't normal."
The reason why Democrats are so angry right now... is not because they're being caught (they don't really care) ... but because they will lose the ability to manipulate in the future. By eliminated USAID, and other avenues of clandestine fraud, we'll be able to prevent Democrats from being able to abuse the system in the future... and they'll be less likely to win.
I hate to put things this way... Republicans screw up quite a bit too... and sometimes they go overboard on things, especially in the very right-leaning states. But with Democrats, it's almost a way of life... Democrat politicians... the vast majority of them, are almost incapable of doing things honestly.
