10 killed and 30 injured as truck crashes into New Orleans

The pick-up truck crashed into the crowd at high speed around 3:15 a.m. and within moments the driver started firing on police officers from inside the vehicle, New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said at an early morning news conference. Two officers were shot and are now being treated in stable condition.

It is being reported that the pickup that crashed into the crowd reportedly had an ISIS flag on the rear. This has not been officially verified. Also, that the driver has been identified as a Saudi. Also not verified.
Pictures of the crashed truck do show a trailer hitch flag pole with a black flag flying from that pole. But, the flag is wrapped around the flag pole so, it's impossible to know what is on the flag.
It should be noted that it's almost impossible to stop a dedicated attack if the attacker is willing to lose their own life in the effort.

It's being reported the truck used crossed the border in Eagle Pass TX two days ago, according to a license plate reader.

Just reported that the driver was born in Texas and influenced by ISIS.
Hard to know the whole truth.
16 people have now died due to this horrific attack.

It is. Looks like it was a radicalized, natural-born American citizen, though, and thoughts this might be an immigration issue were based on his name alone.

During a press conference (going on as I type this) it was stated that it is believed this individual served in the US Army and was from Texas. ISIS has long arms and does influence those willing.

While I agree with everything you said here, I didn't really need to see his bullet-riddled corpse this morning. I'd have much preferred this ended in an apprehension and subsequent questioning; there's a lot of information you won't be able to get from a dead body.

I understand it's a graphic image. Would you prefer to see the images of the casualties he inflicted? I'm sure you wouldn't but, they are available. I agree that it would have been great to have captured him alive but, the realities of this are that there are some very evil people in this world and this is how they should end up.

Apparently (according to recent news), it's now being reported that there is video evidence of three men and a woman placing IEDs along Bourbon Street. Let's hope the authorities catch these bastards and the ***** that wanted to kill us.
Again that's what's being reported, we'll see.------------------
