"We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," Hur wrote in the report. "Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone from whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him—by then a former president well into his eighties—of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness."

Well folks, there you have it. This is the official documented evaluation by the U.S. Government of our current president.

The thought just occurred to me that maybe the powers that be have made a deal with ol' Joe.

They might have offered him a deal where he bows out gracefully in exchange for immunity.

Probably more accurately, they made an offer to Jill.

Now, the question is: What about Kamala? Was she a signatory to the deal? Will she also "fade away"? They could easily destroy her.

We are waiting on the president to address the nation...if he doesn't get lost.

We shall see.

Andrew Weissmann, former top official at the U.S. Department of Justice, and Neal Katyal, former Acting U.S. Solicitor General, are like the Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle of MSNBC's roster of legal analysts.

These "M&M Boys" had no way of knowing that they were echoing my own thoughts upon hearing of the Special Counsel's report, which I became privy to (along with anyone else that was watching MSNBC) before these on-air comments.

"In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden's memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended ("if it was 2013 - when did I stop being Vice President?"), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began ("in 2009, am I still Vice President?"). He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him. Among other things, he mistakenly said he "had a real difference" of opinion with General Karl Eikenberry, when, in fact, Eikenberry was an ally whom Mr. Biden cited approvingly in his Thanksgiving memo to President Obama."

Not competent enough for criminal charges. So how is he competent enough to be president?

The text of Special Counsel Robert Hur's report is a disgrace to the Department of Justice. Robert Hur must be auditioning for what he hopes is another Trump administration after the November election. He is either eyeing some role in what he hopes will be a Trump administration, or thinking he can advantage himself as a lawyer in the private sector by packaging himself as a rabidly partisan Republican with overtones of "MAGA."

Where was Attorney General Merrick Garland? Garland shouldn't have allowed the report to be published with all that "extracurricular" editorializing about the case embedded within it.
