Profound... simply profound.

That's rich. Being lectured about "leftists" by the forum member who couldn't find a leftist if he woke up to find the ghost of Karl Marx rummaging through his nightstand. He seldom offers a remark that does not start with the word "leftist," and what does he ever offer—specifically—about "leftists," aside from the banality of cartoons and memes like this? What does he ever offer to distinguish himself from the "leftists" and other groups or ideas that he is constantly slagging in this insipid and mindlessly repetitive manner?

Rachel Maddow's eight-part podcast ULTRA, which was awarded the 2023 Hillman Prize for Broadcast Journalism, presents a less familiar part of American history in a way that exposes the colossal ignorance of a "Wichita," who could look at a photograph of a 1939 rally of America First isolationists and American Nazi sympathizers and caption it with a feeble-minded historical reductionism: "Leftists."

Can you explain a bit more about this show? To be honest, I don't plan on watching it. Does it basically try to explain how radical leftists are not emblematic of most people on the left ... or something like that?

Sitting members of Congress aiding and abetting a plot to overthrow the U.S. government. Insurrectionists criminally charged with plotting to end American democracy for good. Justice Department prosecutors under crushing political pressure. "Rachel Maddow Presents: ULTRA" is the all-but-forgotten true story of good, old-fashioned American extremism getting supercharged by proximity to power. When extremist elected officials get caught plotting against America with the violent ultra right, this is the story of the lengths they will go to… to cover their tracks.

No one who is familiar with the multi-faceted history of the America First isolationists and American Nazi sympathizers before and even during America's participation in World War Two could reasonably reduce it all to just "leftists"—the way Wichita described it, on this very forum, and more or less "out of the blue" if memory serves me.

I don't think I can go back and find that exact moment again in the archives of this forum.

That moment was already beginning to recede in my rearview mirror (so to speak) before I fully realized the urgency of this task:

"violent ultra right," Rinse... ???

Only one person died that day, and it was a Trump supporter... who was shot by a secret service agent.

I have to say, the hypocrisy is outrageous to me. The Capitol has been breached (barricades knocked down, and Capitol police pushed aside) no more than THREE other times in the last decade, literally by radical leftists... and the media doesn't bat an eye.

If you think the January 6th "insurrection" was anything more than a media-hyped version of what the Democrats have done many times before... then you're failing to understand that the ONLY reason this is a "big deal" is because the Democrat politicians desperately want nothing more than to prevent Trump from getting back into the White House. From day one, they've worked tireless to do everything they can to "protect themselves" from Trump. All this has ever been, the Russia Collusion Hoax, J6, and many, many other situations, is nothing more than a desperate attempt to eliminate Trump from the presidency.

If you are scared of Trump... and you absolutely should be if you don't want to see the "fundamental transformation" of Obama / Biden's America destroyed, then like all the other Democrats, you'll do whatever you can to prevent him from running again. That's what all of this is...

There is no "violent ultra right." It's the most ridiculous thing I've honestly ever heard. You literally had an entire summer where radical leftists destroyed more than a trillion dollars of infrastructure, small businesses, and both Federal and state facilities... while Democrat leadership NOT ONLY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING... but they actually supported it and encouraged it. Which is absolutely *wild* in my opinion. Has Rachael Maddow talked about ANTIFA and the "truly violent radical left?"

So I guess the answer to my question is YES... this is a documentary to explain away how the radical left does not represent the majority of the left, while at the same time trying to tell everyone that the radical right represents all of the right. The hypocrisy is just astounding...

Merry Christmas by the way!

By the way... Wichita is not wrong on that meme. If you take a look at any "radical leftist," you will almost invariably find a child who had likely been wronged in some way. Whether it's an autistic child that developed sociopathy because the parents didn't spend any time with them, or a child from a drug-addicted him, a leftist incelebate, or someone who flat-out suffers from mental illness. In almost every one of these cases... a crying child is exceptionally apropos... because that's how it started for almost every single one of them. Leaving out the politics... any half-way decent psychologist would recognize this from the overwhelming vast majority of people who make up what we call "ANTIFA."

Speaking of Christmas... I was wrapping presents last night... and I got three done when I realized that I'd written "From Satan" on all the cards... sigh. I was tired...

I wouldn't want to guess what the will of God is.

The 10 Commandments are pretty plain.

Just follow those and life a good life.
It's pretty simple really.

Those who choose to break those 10 simple rules are why we have volumes of laws.

Mankind creates it's own problems.

Wichita didn't present that Angry Child Within meme with the words "radical leftist"—he said "leftist."
