According to USA Today, there is about 800 billionaires in the US with a total net worth of $6 trillion. So if you took everything they owned and left them all penniless then you would have $6 trillion. Billionaires don't just have their money laying around. You would have to sell everything they have because their wealth is tied up in the corporations and other assets they own. That means the government liquidates big corporations and they no longer exist such as Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, etc.

Current US debt is closing in on $35 trillion. https://www.usdebtclock.org/
We would still owe $29 trillion and now lost the biggest corporations in the country.
How about a better idea such as STOP SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY!!! It is like telling a fat guy they need to take a walk once a day but never telling them to stop eating a half dozen donuts every day.

Ray B, You are more than welcome to reach into your own pockets and help someone or a lot of folks pay off their loans. Have at it but you don't and can't speak for anyone else.

Ah, the brilliance of a leftoid brain.
The US government is not in the business of losing money either. Although they always do.
Look at what they cost us with their "give everyone a home loan" social justice.

It would help the people who are struggling the most. |

You want to forgive the first $10k of every loan ? Or are you for discrimination ?

There is no "wealth" being taken from anyone to "re-distribute". The schools already have been paid, and no business is losing any money.

Did you go to the leftoid school of dumb azz ? You don't know what Marxism is.
It is a device for the exploitation of the masses by a dominant class(politicians), which believes that class struggle has been the main agency of historical change, and that the capitalist system, containing from the first the seeds of its own decay, will inevitably, after the period of the dictatorship of the proletariat, be superseded by a socialist order and a classless society.
Biden's student loan forgiveness vote buying scheme costs, so far, $400 billion. Chump change ? No one paid for it ?

My my. What lender complained about not being paid in the civil trial sham in which Trump was fined 1/2 a trillion dollars ?
NONE !
By the way, I am the student loan lender who did not get paid.

Ah, I see you did go to the leftoid school of dumbazz.
Ron does not hate, except behavior. He hates those that did not pay off the student loan promise.

Point being: wealth redistribution isn't an inherently Marxist ideology, especially since it frames Marxism in a capitalist box. Marxism does focus on equitable distribution, but that is not the same thing as RE-distribution.

Marx said "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs". This was included in my statement which you quoted.
That is the very essence of wealth redistribution and is one of the cornerstones of Marx's theory.
Your question is a lame attempt to sidetrack the discussion. I will not waste my time with your "seminar" tactics. Have fun.
My HTPC runs Debian and is named "Gort". Those verbal instructions bring Gort and associated components to life.
My desktop is named "Klaatu".
