What they want you to believe, without thinking about it, is that 500 years ago, the indigenous population of North America had chopped down so many trees that they caused global warming but the white explorers killed so many IPs that it caused an Ice Age.
At one time, conventional wisdom was that the streets of major population centers would eventually become completely filled with horse crap. But they did not take into account the invention of the internet. But White people magically made slaves appear (who were not captured and sold by their countrymen in Africa in tribal wars) and now somehow we owe them money for something we didn't do to them before we or they were ever born.
And grandma's pickled hot pepper and home-made sauerkraut recipe caused methane, so its actually the cabbage and peppers responsible for the lowered sperm count in the alpha centari aliens !!

Most of the slaves were brought over by the Portuguese, and most of them went to Brazil. Those who were brought to North America were bought by the English. The United States did not exist until the late 18th century. The Northern states had banned slavery very early in the 19th century and the south seceded in the middle of the 19th century. So, by 1861 the US had not had slavery in about 50 years. The CSA was not the USA.
The USA fought against England and the CSA, the two countries who were responsible for slavery in North America. And we defeated both of them.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 12-03-2022).]

Oh, Jeeze, man....
that's a big one I'll argue and get links with you later....but no it didnt start about slavery, Lincoln did that later. It started because of taxation and federal government over-reach. Lincoln himself owned slaves.
Some are just "naturally born" with a pre-disposition to tell the government to **** off  
And no, look up Dutch and Spanish slave-traders. It was a free-for-all for anybody with a boat.
And BTW, look up the Muslums, they still keep slaves to this day.
(No, I'm not supporting it. Just pointing out facts)

Think for a minute about what we call "the Latin rhythm", the rumba, samba, guaguanco, etc., the music of Cuba and Brazil. Those have nothing to do with Italy and very little to do with Spain, Portugal or any other Latin speaking country. Those are African, primarily Yoruban rhythms that came to the western hemisphere as a result of the Transatlantic slave trade.
