The first election, the stolen election, or this recent election ?

I remember early on in the first election, when our leftoids had more balls to speak out, someone said Trump was not even trying to win and that he was just building his "brand".

All the leftoid press bet the house he would not win. As the leftoid news tries to do, they trashed all 17 2016 Republican Presidential candidates by bolstering Trumps campaign.

Did they learn to be careful what they ask for ? 2024 says "no".

I stumbled across this video tonight. I've never before heard of this fella who's giving his opinion on tariffs, but I think he's bang on.

This video has to be a joke... no matter how you try to manipulate the numbers, Canada and Mexico need us far more than we need them. PERIOD... there is no further discussion needed.

If Trump institutes a tariff... Canada and Mexico will lose... PERIOD. They will either arrogantly destroy themselves, or relent... and just last night, Trudeau hastily flew to Mar-a-Lago and had dinner with Trump to discuss the threat of tariffs. Trudeau realizes how serious the threat is.s

The president of Mexico on the other hand, she's agreed to stop the caravans... but she also has the threat of her own life from the drug cartels who utilize them... so she's in a really bad situation. More than likely, she'll stop the caravans, in exchange for Trump supporting additional anti-narcotics and gang support to Mexico.

That was just for you... and I was waiting for you to say "Trump didn't have dinner with Trudeau!" and then I'd have to find a link to prove it. Haha...

Look, I know it's a hurt to pride for some Canadians to see Trudeau having to take Trump seriously, but the one part of the video you posted that's correct... is where they said "Trump is not interested in diplomacy, and is only interested in brute force." They know that Trump will literally do what he says, and doesn't have time for negotiations to get what he wants. And they are correct... hence the tariffs. Personally, I think Trudeau is doing a good job right now making sure he doesn't screw up here... he knows Trump does not value Canada over the U.S., and will leave that country in shambles if he doesn't get what he wants.

Lots to respond to, but it'll have to wait. Off to a hockey scrimmage...

From The BBC:
"
The Florida visit is the latest move by Canada as it seeks to avoid the hefty tariffs, which could have wide-reaching economic impacts.

It remains unclear whether the incoming Trump administration will actually move ahead with the threatened tariffs, as analysts note that the president-elect has been known to use such threats in the past as a negotiating tactic to achieve his goals.

Trump - who has also threatened the same levy against Mexico - has signalled that they would remain in place until both countries work to secure their shared borders with the US.

Trudeau said on Friday that "when Trump makes statements like that, he plans on carrying them out".

He said his goal was to point out the tariff would not just harm Canadians but also raise prices for Americans and hurt that country's economy.

Trudeau was accompanied on the trip by Dominic LeBlanc, the minister in charge of border security.

US media reported that Trudeau and Trump were joined at dinner by Howard Lutnick, Trump's nominee for commerce secretary; Doug Burgum, tapped to lead the Department of the Interior; and Mike Waltz, who has been selected as the next national security adviser.

Canada is one of America's largest trading partners and it sends about 75% of its total exports to the US. The two countries also share deeply integrated supply chains.

After the phone call with Trump, Trudeau held an emergency meeting on Wednesday with the leaders of Canada's provinces and territories over how to manage the US-Canada relationship.

Trudeau is promising to present a united "Team Canada" approach to working with the US to make the case against the levy.

Several leaders of Canadian provinces have criticised Trump's plan, saying it would be devastating to the country's economy, including the oil and gas and automotive industries.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum also had a phone call with Trump this week."

I'll take higher prices every day, over a porous south or northern border.

But where will this one go when she eventually leaves office?
