What I was correcting you on was the claim that people who live in states with no income tax would not be able to deduct "state taxes" just like people who do live in states with state income taxes. They actually can. It is just deducted as "state sales tax paid" instead of "state income tax".

Obviously, completely different, and state sales tax can only be claimed so long as you haven't maxed out your other deductions, which most people have. Literally nothing to do with what I was talking about... but of course you knew that. Also, please figure out how to use quotes and punctuation. Unless you are intentionally writing in British English, the quote goes after the punctuation.

The same exact rules apply for deducting state sales tax as deducting state income tax. Not sure what you are trying to say here.
