Trump uses words to try to gain an advantage. This does not in any way depend on the truth value of his statements. It does depend on him being given the benefit of the doubt.

There is no reason to give President Trump the benefit of the doubt at this late date.

Yes, e.g. PolitiFact, where 15% of Trump’s claims are categorized to be “true” or “mostly true” while 69% are categorized as “mostly false”, “false” or “pants on fire”. Trump basically lies more than four times as often as he is telling the truth.

His crimes are catching up with him, finally.
After committing fraud and money laundering for the last 50 years.
He never was a billionaire.
His Trump Towers around in other countries are all money laundering operations funded by others like the Mafia to launder their money, just with Trump’s name on the building.
Australia discovered this (laundering Mafia money) in 1978 and banned Trump from building there.

Truthful to his world view? Yes. Unfortunately his world view is a delusion. Therefore the vast majority of things he said were untrue by realistic standards.
