You have this completely backwards.
Conservative red states take in more federal funds than they pay in taxes. Liberal blue states pay more in taxes than they receive back in federal funds.
Conservatives are the ones suckling on the government teat to pay their bills.
Once again FACTS not OPINION.

I don't think you can handle the truth.
True, red states do get a good share of federal money. So ? The populace is not asking for it. It is the job of our elected officials to get what they can. I guess the leftoids suck at it. No one wants to pay more taxes then they have to.
I forget the name of the hurricane that devastated SE Texas and La. Katrina I think. The populace went all out to help. They were shut down by the Feds. The Cajun Navy. They also shut down free meals that were not provided by government.

Fun Fact California took FED money for a train that never happened. Then refused to give the money back after it was canceled. Fun fact they borrowed money from the fund for other things and didn't have it to give back.

I have no problem handling the truth.
The truth is that Conservatives squealing about Democrats are like teenagers that can't pay their own bills squealing about their parents who are supporting them.
Conservative DEPENDD on government assistance. Liberals DO NOT. In fact liberals are the ones paying for the government benefits that the conservatives need to survive.

Fun fact. California's ratio of federal funding to Federal income taxes paid is 0.43. That means that they get back less than half of what they pay.
if you want to squeal abut states taking advantage of the federal government then here is a list of the ones who pay the least for what they get back. https://smartasset.com/data...eral-government-2022
But I don't think you want to go there because they are almost all red conservative states. For example Arkansas has a ration of 2.35 which means they get back almost two and a half times more than they pay. Blue states like California are paying the bills for red states. Red states DEPEND on hand outs to pay their bills.
Lets look up your stats Jake. Where you from.[This message has been edited by fredtoast (edited 07-21-2023).]

I mean, this is a bit exaggerative here...
Of the following 10 below, a few of those are Democrat, and the rest of them were solid Democrat just a decade ago... with all of them getting better year by year, and the Democrat states getting worse and worse. Furthermore, for the past decade, Democrats have been able to claim portions of their state taxes on the Federal income tax, which tax-free states (Republican) never had the privilege of doing. So the past couple of years, Democrats are finally paying their fair share, as the liberals like to say.
1 West Virginia 45.16% 2.36 4.08% 2 New Mexico 41.80% 1.87 6.06% 3 Mississippi 47.31% 2.53 3.23% 4 Alabama 41.20% 1.25 3.33% 5 Alaska 50.83% 1.62 6.83% 6 Idaho 41.08% 0.91 2.75% 7 Louisiana (Tie) 52.27% 1.60 2.13% 7 Maine (Tie) 43.27% 1.19 2.31% 9 Wyoming 56.43% 1.36 3.37% 10 Montana 46.58% 1.04 3.54%
Of course, it's also worth mentioning that most of these states combined don't even amount to a single state like Florida or California or New York. But it shouldn't be lost on you that California and New York are in decline, both economically and population, with Florida and Texas on significant increase... both in population and economically. I mean, California went from a Budget surplus to 22 billion in deficit within a single year... no idea how they could have managed to screw up that bad... but you know, we're talking about Democrats.

Yep. You are talking about the Democrats who make all the money and pay all the bills for the poor Republican states.
See how silly your criticism sounds when you look at it that way?

There is no such thing as a "tax-free" state. If you live in a state with no state income tax then you are allowed to deduct state sales tax paid.

Again... arguing for the sake of arguing. You likely don't make friends very easily. Anyone who read what I put would understand this to mean "states that don't have a state income tax."
