We really only know what history teaches us. Of course, some seem to have their own version of history.
Now, I recognize that there are two sides to every story and don't think for a minute that every Republican is a Saint. But, too many Dems have proven what they really are and want to tear down everything this nation stands for.

Which make me think about Build Back Better. Our President's claim to fame and recipe for a new USA. What he didn't explain was that to build back better, one apparently must demolish what is already in place. Although, he has faced huge disapproval from the right, the left is even turning on him now. At least that's what the polls are showing.

ray b, you can paint me whatever color you wish in reference to those Mississippi Burning comments but, you don't know me so, your opinion matters to me as much as rinse's does.
My apologies to the rest of the readers, we got off topic and that's partly my fault. Will try to ignore ray b from this point on.

why say I was not there then
I was watching the news in 64 as a young teen
not watching the klan or killers but knew that it happened
and how it was not a surprise ether
and it was the upright citizens cops and others who did the crimes
not the commies or other fictional fears
the local cops and the klan did it backed by the town
the local government powers ie the conservatives

btw the level of the hate for the FBI back then
was about the same as the rump supporters hate for the FBI today
cow-ink-a-dink ? or the same kind of people with the same kind of hate for law enforcement

I'm in GA right now and voted (legally). Unlike FL where I was until last year, GA is an open primary - that means when you walk into the voting place you asked which ballot you want: Republican, Democrat or Independent and go from there.

Isn't a lot of new candidates in the Democrat races, the suggestion is a lot of traditionally NOT Republicans got a ballot to vote against Trump's picks... except Hershell Walker did very well. He's running against Raphael Warnock.

I heard the same rumor, hard to know if there is any truth to it. Shoot, I'm a registered Democrat and get handed a Dem ballot here in MS for the Primary but, when the General Election comes around, I can vote for anyone I want. My vote always goes to a Conservative, the vast majority (by a huge margin are on the Republican side). But, the whole point of this thread was to point out that the "New" GA election laws didn't hurt the vote, numbers were way up and regardless of who wins, there's a very high likely hood that all votes were legitimate.

Pretty much "a given" here in GA, that it happened. But as I said, nobody much cares. Most people are not in lock-step with Trump or his "endorsed". (But people in GA do like Hershel Walker.)

But don't tell Ray. He'll still scream that the Dem votes are suppressed. Because that's what Dems do, in spite of evidence to the contrary.

In Florida, you can only vote in the primaries for the party you are registered with. Florida also has something called "NPA" which not all states have. It's not a party, and literally means No-Party Affiliation. You can still vote in the primaries, but you can't vote for anything that's partisan. So, that generally means you can only vote for judges, city commissioners, and various bills and things that are on the primary ballot.

But yes, there are several states that allow voting across party registration in the primaries. Voting for the "lesser of your opponents evil" is a very common trend in those states... and it can and will have a dramatic effect on who wins the primary. Obviously, Georgia LOVES Stacey Abrams... I have no idea why, but the left absolutely thinks she's the most amazing person in the world. They even gave her a Star Trek role where she was queen of some universe or something (below). Can you imagine how insane someone must be that they pick a radical politician to be in their TV show because they love their politics so much? It's usually the other way around.

Never the less, I have no doubt that many Democrats probably voted for Kemp. I also know that people are dissatisfied with Democrats... and Stacy Abrams has really only had negative publicity lately because of all the stupid things she's been doing. I can't see the future, but I can figure that Georgia is probably LESS pleased with Democrats today, than they were 1.5 years ago.

1.5 years ago, the entire country had under $2.00 a gallon gasoline, nearly zero inflation, and a roaring economy. I'm only 44... which I know sounds bigger and bigger every time I say it. I've only seen (as an adult) a few bad times... the .COM bust, the crash following 9/11, and the housing market crash of 2008. I've even seen the V-shaped COVID recovery, from 2019-2020 which was the fastest recovery in the history of this country ... but I've never seen anything like this before in my lifetime. Everything in this country is falling apart.

The polls are full of **** , people are furious... even my most devout and radical liberal friends are angry with Biden, and incredibly demoralized. They are starting to come to terms with the failure of their ideologies and how "out of touch" their party has become. The Democrats are so incredibly lucky that this election year generally favors Democrats. The Senate has far more Republicans who are up for re-election than Democrats. Same goes for the House. If it was any other time, the effect would be absolutely devastating. I still 100% expect Republicans to take the House and Senate with significant support. No super majorities... but definitely a majority. If Biden is still screwing up in 2024, it will be a landslide and you can expect a Republican super-majority. I can only imagine what a Trump presidency would do with a super majority in the house and senate. I'll tell you what, there will be a lot of crying videos on YouTube.
