Just curious. How many of you guys carry a copy of the Constitution with you when you go out in public?

They also interpret common law issue.

Respectfully, I was not put on this planet to serve you. I don't think about you, and no one else here does when they log off. No one is waiting for your statements, if they are there, and someone sees them, they may respond. No one is thinking... "I can't wait to challenge Yellow-88." This is not something anyone actually thinks about. If you want to have a conversation, that's great. Making statements as if you have an audience catered to you is a weird way to approach a message board.

I'm guessing you're going to tell us you do carry one with you everywhere you go. I think that's great. But it seems silly. Most men do not carry bags. We have one pocket for our keys (and now cell phones) and the other pocket for our wallet. Except for people who put their wallet in their back pocket. Carrying a Bible with you in your pocket all the time does not make you a better Christian, and it also doesn't make you more learned about the Bible. The same goes for the U.S. Constitution.

I have an excellent book called The U.S. Constitution and Other Key American Writings. I've never put it in my pocket, but I'd have to be wearing late 80s parachute cargo pants if I did. But it has more than just the Constitution, it also has all of the Federalist Papers, and explains exactly WHY the founding fathers made the decisions they have. I also have a much older book from Archibald Cox (Democrat legal scholar from the 60s and 70s) called "The Court and the Constitution." It's an exceptionally good book, and I highly encourage you to read it without blinders on.

Yes it's true, you carry a Constitution ... in your phone. I once witnessed 2 guys flaming and ready to take it outside when the Bar Tender pulled out a Constitution. The guys ended up being friends. Ya never know when ya may have to save some bodies face.

Actually, carrying a seasoned leather man bag into a conference room is cooler than a slick attaché laptop case.
Yes, I have a man bag, and boots too.

I didn't know that there was a standard place for personal articles. So ... the phone goes with the keys in a back pocket? Sounds like a disaster to me.

I hope paper books never get overtaken by digital media. I love it when voices are automatically lowered in my library. There is a Sprit around Books.

I'll check out "The Court and the Constitution." Did you place the period correctly in that quote? Someone mentioned that earlier.

Will you please explain how you do that multiple quote in the same thread thing?

I don't know how other people do it here... but I copy the entire post I'm quoting, and then in the box where where posts are written, I'll paste the copied post numerous times, depending on how many sections of that post I'm responding to. Then I'll go through each copy of the quote and delete the part that I'm responding to elsewhere. Might sound complicated, but it's easier done than explained.

1. This my laptop bag, no one really uses a briefcase anymore since people don't really carry files around (unless you're an attorney I suppose): https://www.swissgear.com/w...-messenger-bag-camel

2. I don't put anything in my back pocket. You misread.

3. Multiple quoting has to be done manually. You right-click, "open in new tab" on the Quote button, and do this for as many times as you want to quote something... more or less, and then copy/paste it into a single window, do your thing, and then hit submit. Text in previous quotes won't copy with it. It's a manual process.

4. Yes, I did use the period in the right place. I speak American English, and therefore I follow those rules. I'd expect someone from England not to. Published papers and journal papers should also follow American English, which is typically the international standard, and not British English.

Terrible for your back, that. I see people pull these 4" thick wallets out of their back pockets like scoliosis is a hobby of theirs.
