None of this is anything new with Trump. While he was running in 2016 he had to pay out because Trump University was a fraud, and while he was serving as President his charity was shut down because it was a fraud and again he was forced to pat damages.

His followers are actually proud if him being a proven con man. It cracks me up when they start clutching their pearls and whimpering about Biden being corrupt.

I would take this more seriously if it wasn't for the fact that Letitia James campaigned on taking DJT down, not on actual New Yorkers safety, violent crime reduction. If convicted I suspect he gets the full hammer, and his poll numbers go up, and not just because of the MAGA crowd.

I think you overestimate the tendency of the average American to embrace a convicted fraud. Only a small faction follow him no matter who he shoots in the middle of the street.

Trump is a threat to democracy. There was no voter fraud in the 2020 election, but Trump illegally accessed voter records and attempted to cast fraudulent votes from fraudulent electors. He tried to pressure the Vice President into violating his Constitutional duty.

So a lot of people want him to go down.
