Cartels, and the bribes they purchase. Sure, law abiding Americans don't have that much influence, that amount of cash to pay for play. Simple economics as understood by dirty politicians, the weekly deposits in their offshore tax evasion accounts. If you were to inquire with Alec, he might describe a steep price to pay for favors in Albuquerque, grift ain't cheap. ' Look, they are contributing immense sums for consideration, so, I must address their concerns, Americans are defending themselves, endangering their operations. ' Besides, Garland has assured her that the doj will support her endeavors to invalidate the Constitution to the USSC, they too want in on the windfalls of moolah. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, all suspending the Constitution, simply by the signatures of marxist treachery, ' Well that was easy ! ' Biden_Joe making a mean face, mumbling some blarney, ' You know, you know, the thing. ' fjb for fraud

Today in New York we get to experience a new law against LEGAL gun ownership. Starting today every person who wants to purchase a fire arm, must pass a background check, (this has actually been a law for a while, but wait for the kicker). I have absolutely NO problem with back ground checks, had to do it to get my license. Up until today, this check was done by the FBI for FREE, now the state police will do it, still through the FBI and charge $9.00. On top of that, to purchase ammo you now have to get a background check at $2.50 every time you buy ammo. Hochul and the state legislator couldn't use their law that got beat by SCOTUS to restrict gun ownership, so they will "fee" you into submission, and register you in the state database. Now again, I am not against background checks, but this Democratic run state just wants the money. [This message has been edited by bonaduce (edited 09-13-2023).]

Can you buy ammo online? I'm guessing what will happen is that everyone will drive to MA, CT, ME, etc... and buy their ammo there.

It will start at $9 and $2.50 but mark my words, they will be increasing it significantly. It will be used as another tool to limit who can purchase guns and ammo. Give it a year or two and Democrats will start floating bills to increase it to $1000 for a gun and $500 each time you buy ammo.
That is assuming it even survives challenges in court which it will not survive. The government cannot place a fee or tax on fundamental rights. This goes all the way back to Jim Crow and poll taxes required to vote.

I don't believe NY allows ammo sales via online, never checked into it, but believe friends have tried and the orders never showed. As for other states VT, MA, CT, PA are all within 1-2 hours from me so if I need ammo it is no big deal. The fact that hunting season is starting here is the big rub, that's a lot of potential out of state ammo purchase. Several dealers have already started the lawsuit process, wait and see. Sigh, yeah... I figured. And that's probably intentional. They want these places to go out of business. Unfortunately... if it doesn't get settled in the state Supreme Court... you know where it's going. Hopefully they can sue for redress and the state of NY will have to pay all the legal fees and lost profits.

THESE are two separate things. It's extremely clear for anyone OTHER than radical liberals who are told what to believe.
As you say... read the text. Well, I did... I also minored in English and this is well understood.

If you really did minor in English then you would not use the term "things" when analyzing the grammatical structure and function of each word and how they relate to each other. The proper term is "clauses". And more specifically "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state" is a "subordinate clause" that cannot stand alone. Its meaning can only be ascertained in conjunction with the independent clause it modifies. And that independent clause is "The right of the people to bear arms, shall not be infringed."[This message has been edited by fredtoast (edited 09-14-2023).]
