I do not care if you love Democrats and hate Republicans. I'm only interested in having a substantive conversation. So please let me know so I no longer have to waste my time.

I talked about how economists are warning about a potential black-swan event, and the Biden administration is hoping to prevent one. They fear (as many outlets have stated), that when the loan repayment has to start again, that it might spark recessionary behavior that culminates in several economic issues occurring at the same time. The Biden administration has also stated this numerous times in an effort to increase support for student loan repayment. The "looming student loan crisis" is what they've been talking about.

Regardless of your opinion... only 18% of student loan holders were making payments during the pause. The other 82% are not. At least 1/3rd have taken on NEW debt, and the rest are either saving (hopefully) or spending on other luxury items.

As I said, the fear is that as a result of student loans, it may result in people defaulting on car payments (because they're underwater and figure, why bother), ballooning mortgage payments (as a result of dramatically increased property taxes and insurance costs), and in general... ~30+ million people who will no longer have that extra ~$250/monthly discretionary spending in the economy along with other issues. Black swan event... this is what they're trying to prevent, and they "fear" it could be caused by the student loan repayment restart.

Attempting to discuss real world economics with a Leftist is like trying to discuss nuclear physics with a pet goldfish.

Leftists are invariably limited in their understanding to some garbled Keynesian nonsense, their Marxist fueled class resentment, their childlike *feelings* of "fairness" and a pig-headed devotion to equality of outcome.

In short, you're wasting your time.

It's frustrating. They've done numerous studies, and the overwhelming vast majority of people that suffer from mental illness are Democrat ... as indicated:

Here: https://wibc.com/108211/pew...from-mental-illness/
Here: https://www.washingtontimes...-mental-health-cond/
and here: https://threadreaderapp.com...823584111439872.html

So there is the question of chicken/egg. Are these people Democrat BECAUSE they have mental illness, or do they have mental illness because they're Democrat? I have to think that the Democrat party attracts these kinds of individuals. Why this matters is that Democrats tend to be significantly more emotional... in effect, most of their decisions are based on emotion, rather than logic. So having a conversation about logic makes it painful with someone who only thinks emotionally.

Perhaps "they" should do a study on PFF members. There's no way you can convince me the higher percentage of psychologically stable people in this forum are conservative. The right wing nut brigade is evident here on a daily basis!

Yes, unfortunately there has always been a correlation between higher mental function and mental illness. The smarter you are the more likely you are to have some mental illness.

It is both a curse and a blessing.

And it is not surprising that fewer conservatives have mental illness because as a rule they are much dumber than liberals.

Oh, you have a mental illness ?

Conservatives do not want government help. Liberals depend on it.
