DJT and a Third Term? (Page 3/7)

The next presidential election is in 2028

Why even put any effort or concern as we're in 2025?

Well, because olejoedad hit the nail on the head:

He's not trolling the people that support him, he is trolling the media and those that are opposed to him

and the Democratic Party eats it up!

If you voted for Trump; enjoy 2025, 2026 and 2027 before worrying about 2028...

If you didn't; you're for a long, long time before 2028!

Also, we rebuilt Japan, and Germany, after WW II. Which was not done by our economy. It was our generosity and compassion.

Just as they did not like Trump after he told NATO to pay their dues. Now they are squealing because we want fair tariffs.

I really think you're living in an echo-chamber. I don't know how you can come away thinking Obama and Biden haven't not only said... but actually DONE things that were insanely inappropriate. Biden held a speech outside the White House with red lights, military guard, for no other reason than to declare that Trump was a threat to Democracy. Which... we all remember, you believed in entirely. You came on here totally frenetic, almost terrified if you will... and tried to convince the 5-6 of us that voting for Trump meant the end of the world as we know it. Biden literally raided Trump's home... a former sitting president, and the biggest contender against Biden's re-election campaign. I don't even know how you can begin to sit there and pretend like things have been normal in the slightest.

I also greatly disagree with your view on international relations. You may have "finally" come up in society, but I've been an international traveler and "of that society" my entire life. My classmates and friends growing up were Mike Schwab (is this where you work?), the prince of Jordan, Henry Hagar (married Jenna Bush), etc. This is a picture of my dad, you can probably pick him out since you know the three presidents there. You've stated repeatedly how you've just made VP at your company, and that somehow gives you insight into the rest of the world. Glad you've finally reached a level that many of us on Pennock's have already lived. I'm proud of you... but I get the impression you believe the rest of us on Pennock's live in trailers, or have no clue what's going on in the rest of the world.

What we're doing right now is a very good and very necessary "rightening" of a global trade imbalance.

I fundamentally disagree with your characterization of events during the Biden presidency. Biden’s Delaware home was also raided. This wasn’t some weaponization of the DOJ. It’s our government leadership mishandling classified documents and getting caught.

Your characterization about my “place in the world” is also off. Title is off, characterization is off, company is off. You do this often, Todd. You make assumptions with a little info, and you hit the gas pedal.

And yes, I genuinely believe Trump is a danger to our republic as we know it. No, I’m not frenetic about it. You’ve got some picture in your head based on faulty memory. Your information leaps are somewhat logical, but at every leap you added in detail that isn’t correct. Your end analysis is so flawed it’s absurd.

It’s hilarious to watch Trumpers fall over themselves to defend this. Last time this was a topic on the forum, the basic argument was that it was a joke and can’t be taken seriously. Trump now says it’s not a joke, and he’s had public and private conversations on the idea, and all you can muster is that Obama also did it… as you link a scripted interview from a comedy show.

Disagreement is part and parcel of political discussion.

The reports of the visit to Biden's house didn't mention the flashing lights on police cars parked outside, the SWAT teams or the rifling of Jill's personal belongings by agents.

As to weaponization of the DOJ, there are many examples that have come to light; the visit to the Biden residence was a CYA move by the Biden administration.

I do wonder how a Senator and VP ended up with papers that only a President had the right to take, and I also wonder how a President who had the right to the copies by the benefit of being President, had his house raided.

I agree to a certain extent with your statement in the third paragraph, Trump IS a threat to the Republic, AS WE KNOW IT.

Keep in mind, in our lifetimes the Republic as designed by the Founders has been twisted beyond their intent. They made no provisions for a bureaucratic branch of government that wrote policy, instead they envisioned a small Federal government and left the bulk of regulation to the individual states. I think Trump's actions are sorely needed to downsize and restore our Republic.

Well, the other Big Three got bailed out, I see this as no different. Some folks like their Teslas. I don't want one but, that's just me. Biden must have really liked them, there's a huge government contract to buy 400 Teslas from the Biden Term.

I agree with the sentiment, and I do hope through all of this that the end result is a more efficient government that still effectively protects our rights as citizens, which I think is the primary purpose of any government. I hope we reduce spending and learn to manage our debt. I hope wasteful programs and programs that aren't needed anymore are minimized and/or abolished.

I also hope it's all done appropriately, that our elected officials are driving change that they're legally allowed to do, and that we don't destroy our soft power we have across the world along the way.
