EXACTLY!

What kind of killing spree requires more imagination?

You can't go to a federally licensed Bomb dealer and buy a ready-to-use bomb in a single, straightforward retail transaction. You can't drop into your neighborhood Poisons or Bio Weapons shop and ask for something that's really "handy" for killing a lot of people without burdening a convenience-minded psychopath with a tedious requirement for some extraordinary level of planning. Those are not the easiest ways of acquiring and then using a means to kill a lot of people.

I'll assume some really believe the above. Apparently, they haven't visited a Wal-Mart or a Farm and Fleet and many other retailers where one can get everything needed to build some very nasty weapons.......................

The key word there is "BUILD."

If you consider my remarks in this thread, I haven't suggested a ban on the retail sale or private ownership of any particular kind of firearm.

I've highlighted Maine's "yellow flag" law and why some are arguing that it's not adequate and should be brought into line with the "red flag" laws that are on the books in other states.

It is exactly this kind of narrow minded crap that is bringing on the totalitarian police state.

This is what "progressivism" is doing to human civilization. It is driving us back to the dark ages.

"Woke" is the opposite of awake.

Just stop it!

You don't give a damn about the victims or the perpetrator. You are taking advantage of the tragedy to promote your personal agenda.

So you both agree that we need laws that allow the authorities to take guns away from people with signs of serious mental illness? As long as there is a court hearing and due process is protected, rigth?

No. As usual, you are wrong.

I have been saying it here for years, every time one of these incidents comes up.

Help these people before it becomes necessary to involve law enforcement. All that does is make things worse. Get the family, church or schools involved. Consult mental health professionals. Try being compassionate instead of confrontational. Be the caring person you pretend to be. Don't fake it, make it.

The left sees every tragedy as an opportunity to promote their agenda. Prevent the tragedy, instead. It is not as sensational, but it will advance civilization.

Stop being progressive and woke. Wake up and promote actual progress.

Then what exactly is your position on the rights of mentally ill people to own guns?

No limits?

If limits then how enforced?

How?

What limitations are inplace right now stopping the family, church, and schools involved? And what exactly can a church do if they are told that a mentally ill person with a gun is a danger to the community?

And what exactly can they do to protect the public from a dangerous mentally ill person with a gun?

I am not necessarily disagreeing with your ideas. I know the "defund the police" crowd agrees with you that someone other than the police should be called to deal with a dangerous mentally ill person with a gun. But, like you, they don't really explain the details of exactly how it is supposed to work.

If I know of a dangerous crazy person with a gun and I call the church and mental health professionals what exactly do they have the authority to do to fix the situation?
