Public schools, teachers unions, parental involvement, welfare, a lack of commitment to improve. Success is not quick. Work might take a couple of generations, as you teach your offspring what you have learned, rejecting the democratic mantra of "you are a victim".

No fairy tale.
I have posted the proof.
Draw a line through 1964. Before that Southern states voted Democrat in almost 100% of Presidential elections since 1900. In the 1964 election Johnson beat Goldwater in a landslide, with Goldwater only winning his home state (Arizona) and 5 states in the deep south (S. Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana). After 1964 Southern states voted Republican in almost 100% of presidential elections. Anyone with any knowledge of politics knows this is true. The only people who don't are the ones who blindly believe whatever the right-wing media tells them.
As soon as the Civil Rights Act passed Lyndon Johnson said "We (Democrats) have lost the South for a generation"
In 1970 Richard Nixon's politcal strategist Kevin Phillips said. . . "From now on, the Republicans are never going to get more than 10 to 20 percent of the Negro vote and they don't need any more than that... but Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That's where the votes are. Without that prodding from the blacks, the whites will backslide into their old comfortable arrangement with the local Democrats."
Nixon's Chief of Staff H. R. Haldeman said that Nixon "emphasized that you have to face the fact that the whole problem is really the blacks. The key is to devise a system that recognized this while not appearing to"
From 1948 to 1984, the Southern states, for decades a stronghold for the Democrats, became key swing states, providing the popular vote margins in the 1960, 1968 and 1976 elections. During this era, several Republican candidates expressed support for states' rights, A REVERSAL OF THE POSITION HELD BY REPUBLICANS BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR.
In 2005 RNC chairman Ken Mehlman said "By the '70s and into the '80s and '90s, the Democratic Party solidified its gains in the African American community. Some Republicans gave up on winning the African American vote, looking the other way or trying to benefit politically from racial polarization. I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong. . . . it is not healthy for the country for our political parties to be so racially polarized."

So you are saying that George Wallace was a "progressive liberal".
Please educate yourself. I am feeling embarrassed for you.

Apparently your law school never taught you the difference between the words "proposed" and "ratified". Now go back and read exactly what I said.

You did not prove anything. You expressed your opinion that the USA is a democracy because a mob can overthrow the government. That is simply absurd. It is not even worthy of dispute.

Looks like the Democratic Party vote buying scheme is declared unconstitutional.
Oh well. Small win, but the scam is really on the students who were duped by loans for grievous studies, but who mainly benefited are college staff who get paid 6-figures to do nothing.
These leftist will dine fine on the backs of millennials. They were hoping to keep the scam going with a $500 billion tax transfer to them, but it's Illegal.

On May 21, 1919, the House of Representatives passed the amendment, and 2 weeks later, the Senate followed. |
