I never got on twatter. Never bought any stock.
If I had bought some why would it not still be mine ? I didn't sell it to Elon.

When a publicly traded company becomes a privately-held company, the public company's shares are purchased at a premium by the investors buying the company. The company is delisted from the stock exchange where its shares formerly traded.
Musk tendered an offer that the majority shareholders approved so he can indeed buy your shares OR you can choose to hold onto soon to be worthless paper. I'm told that old paper stock certificates sometimes make interesting wall decorations...
In either event Musk has closed a deal for a majority controlling interest in Twatter sufficient to then take the company under his private ownership under SEC rules.
Here is the really cool part; Musk has the option to take Twatter public again sometime in the future if he chooses to and HE will control the number of shares made available to the public.[This message has been edited by randye (edited 10-28-2022).]

VERY SMART MOVE. Prevents sabotage from the maladjusted, malcontent, script kiddies (a/k/a Twatter employees)
In another smart move, Musk immediately FIRED the CEO Parag Agrawal, Policy executive, (a/k/a "Head Censor") Vijaya Gadde, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal and top Legal and general counsel Sean Edgett.
Security guards ushered one or more of the execs out of Twitter headquarters in San Francisco, the New York Times reported.

I LOVE that Musk gave those incompetent Leftoids "the bum's rush" out of the building under guard. It really sets the tone more firmly that "there's a new sheriff in town" for any of the Twatter kids still in denial. It's also Musk's demonstrated response to that dumb-ass "demand letter" that those soft children sent to him.

Would not be surprised if Musk later finds that those 4 execs were all complicit in "cooking the books" to grossly overstate Twatter's real value. I suspect that Musk and his people already suspect / know that though, it will just help make the case for NOT paying out tens of millions of $ in severance to those top 4 Leftoids he fired.
We already know that during Musk's due diligence prior to purchase it was reported that a massive number of Twatter accounts were fake ones created by Twatter to pump up their numbers for advertisers so it's no stretch to presume that the fakery goes a lot deeper.[This message has been edited by randye (edited 10-28-2022).]

EPIC TROLL
They put on an award winning performance specifically to troll the lunatic Leftist media and those Leftoid morons fell for it hook, line and sinker.
By the way, the word "Ligma" is a made up, fictional, disease in the video game "Fortnite".
My Grandkids play that bizarre game.
Two of them asked me; "Grandpa is this actually a real thing?"
"LIGMA is part of the BOFA spectrum of conditions. LIGMA (Loose Internal Gene Mi-Asintits) is the second stage of BOFA (Biologically Offset Farkwonian Asintits)." [This message has been edited by randye (edited 10-30-2022).]

I thought about it tonight while I was listening to some podcasts at work, and I think Elon pulled off an almost perfect purchase.
He went to buy Twitter because he said he was tired of the censorship. I'm sure that was part of it, but he also likely saw an opportunity for something else. I'm not sure what yet, I think a base of sorts for something else.
Then the Left exploded because how dare anyone take away their censorship. It wouldn't make sense to have half the country hate Twitter because they didn't want Elon owning it, so Elon made the Left want him to purchase Twitter.
What are they gonna do? They can't boycott, it was their idea that he purchase the place. He was going to walk away and they made him come back and buy the place. Now they almost have to hang out and gloat.
So he avoided the worst of the attacks from the left and the right. He didn't have to concede anything and both sides think they won something. I'll wait and see who gets to come back and just how much "freedom of speech" we get here.
I don't agree with everything Elon does, but I think he's extremely smart and plans well ahead of any action he takes. I don't think there is much he does that he doesn't want to do, and I doubt he would make a move like this and not plan on making money off of it.
