I did not draw any comparisons between VDH and Jimmy Fallon.
And there you go again, with the "Royal We." Are you non-binary? Why isn't your pronoun the very singular "I" instead of the obviously plural "we"..?
As far as refuting the assertions of VDH... maybe I'll get around to focusing on one of the points he's trying to make.
But I don't need to complete that exercise to know for myself that I don't see anything good in VDH.

It's a "nod" to the late Don Imus.
When I said "someone needs to put [VDH] to sleep," I was reprising Don Imus. That's what the "I-Man" (Imus) would say about someone he wanted to deride or ridicule; particularly an older person.The "put him to sleep" line was usually delivered in a satirical or not totally serious way. It wasn't meant to be taken literally. Obviously, it is suggestive of euthanasia. The line was always accompanied by chuckling from the I-Man himself and from his usual on-air acolytes... Charles McCord, Bernard McGuirk, Rob Bartlett, Sid Rosenberg—who gave way to Warner Wolf—and frequent guests Bo Dietl and Dagen McDowell.
When I experienced it, it was a simultaneous radio and TV broadcast called "Imus in the Morning." I used to watch it fairly regularly during it's 11 years run on MSNBC.
