10 YEAR OLD DATA THERE WITH MORE BS THEN USUAL
WONDER IF JEFFS was counted
In 2006, Jeffs was placed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List for his flight from the charges that he had arranged illegal child marriages between his adult male followers and underage girls in Utah.[7] In 2007, Arizona charged him with eight additional counts in two separate cases, including incest and sexual conduct with minors.[10]

One thing that strikes me is that in most circumstances, it is the people on the radical fringes of a movement that cause the problems.
ray b, do you consider yourself to be on a radical fringe?[This message has been edited by olejoedad (edited 05-31-2024).]

"Although child marriage is not very common in the U.S., it is legal in almost every state. Nearly every state technically prohibits people younger than 18 from marrying, but each of these jurisdictions has exceptions to these laws. In at least 36 states, for example, minors can marry with judicial consent. And in 34 states, 16- and 17-year-olds can marry with their parents’ permission. Two states, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, allow 12- and 13-year-old girls respectively and 14-year-old boys to marry with parental and judicial permission. (Data on marriages among those under the age of 15 are not available from the American Community Survey.)"

Old data from 2014.
Every state I listed that has barred child marriage has done it since 2018. Delaware (2018), New Jersey (2018), Pennsylvania (2020), Minnesota (2020),Rhode Island (2021),New York (2021),Massachusetts (2022),Vermont (2023),Connecticut (2023), Michigan (2023), Washington (2024) and Virginia (2024).
Blue states stepping up to protect youth from being sexually exploited by adults. Red states sitting on their hands because they are fine with 16 year old girls getting it from older men. as long as they are married their god is fine with it.
My "actual proof" is correct while your information is wrong.

I am glad you understand. It is indeed crazy to post information on a topic from 2014 when so many states have changed their laws since then.

Most states allow a person under the age of 18 get married under certain circumstances. Generally one of these:
-consent of a court clerk or judge (sometimes the consent of a superior court judge, rather than a local judge, is required) -consent of the parents or legal guardians of the minor -if one of the parties is pregnant, or if the minor has given birth to a child -if the minor is emancipated.
The states who have changed their laws do not allow underage marriage under any of these circumstances.
