William Penn -- Cancelled (Page 11/22)

The problem is that if we don't continue to take the high road, if we play dirty pool, we become that which we strive to defeat. We give up everything we stand for. We become like rayb, bitter and afraid.

I would rather be an honest looser than a crooked winner. I don't want to be affluent effluent.

Speaking the TRUTH is never "the low road".

The Best Predictor of Future Leftist Behavior Is … Past Leftist Behavior

Former DEMORAT West Virginia Senator Robert KKK Byrd, 1964 (filibustered 18 hours and voted AGAINST Civil Rights Act).

Former DEMORAT Alabama Governor George Wallace, 1974 ("segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever").

Former DEMORAT Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, 1984 Med School yearbook photo.

This is the craziest one... would you have ever in your wildest dreams decided that you're going to dress up either as a KKK member or a black slave for Halloween? I mean, especially as an adult. It's the craziest thing. Like, nothing like this has ever once entered into my mind... and I was alive during that time too (though he's about 12 years older than I am). It just really shows what goes through these people's minds. In 1984, I was also living in Virginia (Richmond)... and not once did I think like that. I just wasn't raised that way.

I'm sure the authors of the two posts that come immediately before this one have given equal scrutiny to Republicans—alongside Democrats—and the recent and current Republican history, in terms of embracing or cozying up to White Supremacism.

Especially, since their track record in this kind of historiography is so uniformly impressive:

Why don't you point it out for us?

Actually I have never said that. All I have done is pointed out the support Trump (not Republicans) has among racists. David Duke and the KKK support him. Confederate Battle Flags were welcome at his (not Republican) rallies.

No they are not. Christian nationalism is the strongest predictor of xenophobic views of COVID-19, and the effect of Christian nationalism is greater among white respondents, compared to Black respondents.

Again, why do you think it is valid to judge Democrats by their actions from generations past, but not with anyone else?

You are a citizen of Florida. Florida embraced the Jim Crowe laws. Does that mean you endorse Jim crow type laws?

I am sorry. I know how it triggers you when I do this. But could you please give an example of what you are talking about?

All I have seen is Republicans fighting Democrats tooth and nail, and vice versa.

The main reason this country is in such a mess is that neither party will work with the other.. All they want to do is investigate/impeach each other instead of passing legislation to fix the problems we face.

I have no idea what you just said up there. I honestly don't need to care either. My family has always (thankfully) been on the right side of history every single time. It's nothing I have to worry about. I don't owe anyone anything except my parents for raising me.
