I mean what I said. The US govt imprisoned a race of people because. Just because. That way you don't need to.provide papers.

HUH.... wait a sec

Something about a declared war at the time is ringing a bell, but I'd have to do some research.

Ah, so US citizens can be imprisoned without committing a crime and you're ok with that.
We'll just use memes of another country doing what every country at war does and say they're double secret bad.

What Im saying is to win minds we have to be smarter than the media propaganda and use real history. Because all nations do that, except that the USA actually just imprisoned people and bypassed the 'papers please', routine.

The reason the comparison came up at all is because folks arent ok with it.

Agreed we have to be smarter than the media propaganda and use real history.

Smarter, yes...but WW2 was at least semi-understandable.

If you are in an open declared war against "ooga-booga-land" and they are against you, then you probably don't want ooga-boogas freely running around your country any more than they want you running around theirs.

Simple common sense.

This is a completely different situation. More akin to internal ethnic cleansing or political purges than anything else.

That's another statement supporting imprisonment of a nations citizens based on ethnic make up when they have committed no crimes nor stated any intention to commit crimes?

In our Boomer and X-er days that stereotypical WWII propanganda worked. We have to appeal to larger audiences.
Today, the later generations don't accept it as we did because they weren't given the limited perspective. The internet is the world's greatest library available in seconds and they keep looking to evaluate.

Hell hath no fury like a Trudeau scorned, or a tin-pot dictator of a s***hole country.

These are changes Trudeau is sneaking into the Emergencies Act.

It appears Trudeau is trying to make sure no anti-Trudeau protests will be allowed from now on,
under penalty of being financially ruined. That doesn’t sound very democratic to anyone.

So only “Rah, Rah, Trudeau” demonstrations will be allowed?

No “Bring Down Trudeau”, “This Government Sucks”, “Trudeau Has to GO!” pre-election campaign
demonstrations near Parliament by other Opposition Parties or the public?

Trudeau is acting more like tin-pot dictator every day.

Refer to Enabling Act of 1933

Even Crappy Tire is getting in on the bull-kaka. Threads around that if you buy stuff on your card they "think' is going to support freedom they are refusing to sell and suspending the account.

There is so much "bull-kaka" in this thread...

For anyone not familiar with Canadian Tire, it's basically a glorified mega-hardware/automotive chain in Canada. Over the last few years, Can Tire has switched over almost exclusively to self-checkouts. (Good/bad? - another topic for another time.) You're no longer dealing with a checkout person, you're dealing with a scanner and and a touch pad.

So my question to MEM is this... who or what is actually making the decision not to sell merchandise to a particular customer?
