That 2007 is a fun can to drive and I now know why people lease them and dump them after 3 years. BTW, you can jump them and you don't need a backup battery when you pull out the old battery. In my research, registering the battery matches the charging system with the battery and if you can just replace the old one with an exact new copy you might not have to register the battery. That being said it's the white BMW battery which isn't cheap! GreenPlatypus AUG 25, 11:22 PM That is pretty cheap. The new Merc S-Class battery is in the $1200-$1400 range. Same with the Li-Po battery for the new C-Class, that one is pushing $1500. And you CAN NOT jump start them when they go bad. BrittB AUG 25, 11:27 PM Makes mid 80's cars look stone age at times.
