Does it sound like the whining of a supercharger? If so, is the pump low on fluid? If it's not low on fluid, it may have air in the system. My 79 Mustang had a squeal in the pump coming from the bearings (bushing?). I squirted a shot of WD-40 into it every few months and it would stay quiet

Nope, no whine. I know the sound you are talking about. It's definitely a squeal. most likely from the bearings. I'll try the WD40 to appease the boss.

I have been doing the WD40 for about 1 week now, and it has worked wonders. Thanks Carnut.

No prob! Glad it's working out. Now that you found the culprit and know the solution, maybe you could move up to something a little thicker (and long lasting) like white lithium grease?[This message has been edited by carnut122 (edited 11-23-2013).]
