{Edit - Damm, I screwed up "expect" in the title; the word should be "except " }
This is a FYI:
I sent an email to MrMikes as I'm interested in purchasing his leather rear console saddle / cover as an ‘arm pad’ when shifting. http://mrmikes.com/kits.htm
In the email, I requested color swatches I want to see, which included leather and vinyl colors shown on his site: http://www.mrmikes.com/mrmikescolors.htm
I get a response the next day which said:
quote | MrMikes: Samples are on the way. Only Black is leather, all colors are leather-ette. |
|
Because I was confused by *this* comment, I asked does this mean the MrMikes Colors page is incorrect and if he can please enlighten my color choices.
MrMikes response:

So, I believe ALL MrMikes products are vinyl now and the only 'real' leather is #1 black

He also does cloth, that appears to be nicer (thicker/heavier) than the stock cloth.
These were some Miata seats that he did for me, a while back.

Mikes website is junk. No question
But you know what, I don't care. Every ****in product I've ever received from Mike has been top shelf. I like dealing with him on the phone anyways, and I will vouch for the leather-ette. Its awesome.

To be honest if anyone has any questions call Mike. He does high quality work at a good price. He is great before, during and after the sale.
There is not much to get confused on but if you are call. He is one of the hall of fame Fiero suppliers and we don't need any bad word going out on him unfairly.

Those Miata seats look just like the fabric many Pontiacs used back in those days. Not sure it is the same as the GTs or not, but it is good to have it as an alternative for those who prefer cloth.

They have a bit of a texture to them. Very visible in the nearest seat in the pic. If it resembles any Fiero upholstery, it might remind me of the subtle "waffle weave" - or whatever you want to call it - found in 87 base cars - only different. I've got two sets of 88 GT seats, and have seen lots of 87s and 86s. Mikes fabric is more "lush".

I'd love to see a reproduction of the old-school "fleece seats" that were so super rare. I've only seen them twice. One was in an 84 SE if I remember correctly, and the other was in a 1985 Fiero GT that was loaded. The passenger side was decent, but the driver's side always looked like some kind of roadkill.
EDIT: Here's a picture I found on here...

Yeah. The fleece seats are nice, but they would seem to be a b!tch to keep looking nice. I had a fleece cover on my Monza seat, strangely enough. It ended up being a dull gray. It got ash-canned.
But I do like the suede. Maybe Mike should consider doing alcantara, but I'm not sure how expensive it is, being synthetic, and all.
Edit - Regarding alcantara... After a cursory search, it looks like the color selection might be a bit limited. So there ya' go. [This message has been edited by Raydar (edited 10-06-2025).]

I just asked him. I like them so much that I'd consider actually buying a set just to turn them into arm chairs for the garage on the off chance I get another Fiero with a brown interior.

When my seat ripped I inquired with MrMike earlier this year about making the leather seats with suede inserts that came in some GT's. He will not work with suede or Alcantara materials -- says it is not durable. [This message has been edited by jonrev (edited 10-09-2025).]
