Will She Stay, Or Will She Go ? (Page 1/1)

Sung to the tune of ...

I have been married for 25 years. She denies it but I think she dated me because I had a Fiero. (As they say, it was a chicks car.) At the time I had an 85 SE. Then I bought an 84 SE. Then an 87 GT. Then a 86 GT.

I told my Wife that I was going to keep buying till I got the Holy Grail. The 88 GT T Top. Which I did get. (It had been setting in the PFF Mall for a week, and was located 60 miles away, 98,000 miles, very nice.)

Now, , I having to tell her I want another one. Mine have always been bone stock as I prefer things that way, while always appreciating the customized modifications others do. The one I now want has been "customized".

87 GT. Dual rear quarter panel side scoops, a nicely done front hood scoop, a nice off hue blue paint job, Mr Mike's leather seats, with matching blue leather inserts. 88 DOT Matric dash surrounds. 2.8, rebuilt around 2000. It is calling my name.

The Wife is also calling me names, and she says divorce attorney names.

Will She Stay, Or Will She Go ? Are you a betting man ?

I like the blue color but seven grand for a 'custom' Fiero with 182,000 miles OR a loving wife of 25 years?

Perhaps you can negotiate on other details, so both parties can win?

Of course it is your choice, but I love my wife more than another Fiero...

I've been married for 21 years and my wife still likes me-LOL. She supports my many hobbies and enjoys seeing me smile. For all the time married within the context of what is moral legal and responsible; the bottom line is that my wife and myself run our lives together while also enjoying separate interests. When I want to buy something, she never says no because marriage is to find a partner not a boss to share life with . My wife who is 17 years younger, gets what she wants too.

I would divorce you for paying that much for that car.

You should have bought the car first and then asked for forgiveness. Well that is what I do in these situations.

My wife is a dog person/trainer. I am a gearhead.
I tell people that we have a system.

Her: "I want another puppy."
Me: "I want another car. Go for it."

As do I (not your Wife, )

I am not up to customizing anything anymore. Even another wife, . I am not a betting man, but, I think I might be able to get away with it (the purchase).

I have got her from a hard "NO", to a "we will not be buying insurance for it", and also she "doesn't want to see it parked out front".

Sounds like permission to me, .

I admire and respect your opinion. I have never seen one. I have heard nice opinions of them.

Hmm. . Hence the reason I did not marry you, .

I see your point. This customized Fiero in the Mall, https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...m4/HTML/081009.html, started out at $4250.00 and now is down to $3750.00. It's nice. Also custom paint and leather seats.

Sorry but really? When I met my wife, I had my original from new 85 GT. While we never did the deed inside (we're both over 5'10'), that car had a knack for finding secluded locations . I sold my 68 Firebird for an engagement ring then sold the GT for a wedding ring. After #1 son was born, I bought a low mileage 86 SE an held onto that for almost 20 years and started an ambitious 3.8 swap I didn't finish. In the meantime, she bought a beautiful 86 SE herself. We sold that a few years ago as getting in and out was getting harder for her. In a nutshell, Fieros were a big part of our relationship through the years. My Tempest is the next to go so where we do we go from here? A Fiero is not out of the question...
