I actually think the 1st one looks pretty nice with the smaller grid pattern. The 2nd one is a little off.

i dont hate it honestly. to be honest i was never a dot matrix person as i like the brushed bronze stuff more, ill probably run this since i have a few mismatched parts 84 dark grey, 87 light aluminum and some random other bits

its better. the cluster face is quite bad but i just need to buy more wrap to redo it. definitely not what i had originally ordered (3m actually had a micro matrix that i ordered but i got send the medium matrix instead since they dont make it anymore apparently) also forgive the mess i have a red heeler who thought it would be funny to rip open the garbage can and strew it about while i was wrapping

Thats a good idea to brighten up a bad facia panel.
I did the same thing many years ago with the dash on my '77 Bandit Trans Am.
The gold finish had faded or was scuffed off in some places. I bought a wrap which had pretty much the same golden pattern as the original anodised aluminium finish.
Only a purist would see the difference at the car show, and what the heck did I care? My car interior looked nice!

i have some brushed aluminum wrap sitting in a cart to try that, i wanted bronze but its hard to find, really just need a printer capable of printering onto plastic or vinyl and thats a bit hard to find cheaply
