Where Are They Now ? (Page 1/4)
cliffw JUN 19, 10:04 AM
I have seen many post asking about people, forum members, who no longer post.

We have a memorandum thread, how about a dedicated "where are they now" ?

I often wonder about Neptune. He was very fond of "wood side" station wagons.

I also wonder about Lurker.

Being on this forum from almost the beginning I can probably name 50 people that are no longer here but there are hundreds. Times change and so do people's tastes. Some folks were heavy into Fieros built/restored them, had fun and moved on. Some of the former forum members built some really good cars and engines ( recall Rockcrawl) but eventually they lost interest and moved on to other projects. At one time there were quite a few fiberglass guys too,Then there are those that are no longer with us. The bottom line is that nothing lasts forever.

Globally, Facebook trying to centralize everything on the internet the last 15+ years certainly hasn't helped message boards.

Everything is behind some sort of membership now. Instead of being able to search the internet for anything it's all kept hidden and not archived.

It's sad you can't search for anything much new related to Fieros anymore without joining facist META or Google.

At least some of us are still here which is still good

Me personally, I seem to remember (and ponder whatever happened to) the guys who had unusual user names on the forum.
Like, Eric Hinnakamp (Racingman24)
And, who could forget username “Wetpoop”. 😀
Honorable mention: “Electrathon” from Oregon.

im sure cliff is doing his best to keep this forum around and we appreciate him for doing so.
and theres no good groups or forums for 90s cars anymore man. all the s10 cpi engine information I need was unarchived on s10 planet and well its all gone and im bot even gonna get started on the community's in the ford truck forum and squarebody forum other than if i didnt love my trucks i would have scrapped them and videoed them being crushed to prove a point that doxxing someone doesnt make them more likely to listen to you.

ive found google to be the best search engine for remote topics.of course you have to look past the paid pages.

Google is fine when searching specifically within PFF or even Reddit (the Facebook Fiero group is completely locked down, I deleted my account and no longer have access to it at all), otherwise it's a cesspit of product placements and AI-generated misinformation. Might be a tangent for another thread though. All said... Cliff, the continued existence of this forum is much appreciated.

Add 'saxman' to the list of daily posters who no longer is around. He was a big part of the DC VA MD Fiero group. Last I heard, he retired from the AF, moved to Florida and was into the Mustangs.
