The article does mention the Fiero and Solstice platforms for a GM competitor to a downsized Viper.

There are three of mentions of the Fiero as a possible GM competitor for the " baby Viper" hence the reason I put it in the General Fiero chat[This message has been edited by formulaWA (edited 03-22-2025).]

As bad as sales are now I think this is DOA.
A low volume low profit car is just not good economic sense right now.

I think that things are changing in a big way. Lots of news in the enthusiast world, regarding the EPA/emissions arena. The Hemi is coming back, in several different flavors. Some of the bureaucratic BS might be about to go away, which will likely make cars cheaper to build and certify. Of course I don't believe everything I read or hear, but where there is smoke, there frequently is fire.

Yes and no. We will see ICE stay but we will not see a mass change yo performance unless it makes lot of money. They killed the Dodge and Camaro because they made little money. Even Mustang sales are tanking. They used to sell 600,000 Mustangs year now less than 48K.
The other problem is there will be elections in 4 years and it all could change back. Automakers will be cautious with their choices and how they will spend their money/.
