Hello everyone,
Just joined the club and picked up a 1987 Fiero GT. The car was about 250 miles from home, with the listing stating it ran and drove. I spoke with the seller, and he said it would make the 250 miles home "no problem". So, the family and I headed north. The car is clean for its age. The trunk and battery box are in perfect condition. The exterior looks like a 38 year old garage kept and well maintained vehicle. Not perfect, but good. I've been searching for a Fiero for 18 months and I finally found it. We made a deal and I drove it back 150 miles before the transmission cooler lines gave up. Had to trailer it home the next 100 miles. Oh well... this car is a project toy for me, not a daily driver.
The ODO says 175k but the interior disagrees. I'm not sure if the previous owner had the interior redone, but there is nearly zero chance this current interior has 175k. The engine runs smooth without ticks and knocks. Hoping the trans doesn't have any permanent damage after it got hot... we will see.
Rust: there is some surface rust underneath, but the frame is very solid. The lower radiator mount is rusted, there are these square support bars for the nose that need patched due to rust, but that's about it. All suspension components will be replaced over time. I'm technically the second owner and the car did sit for some time before I bought it.
Paint should clean up nice, does need some repair due to rock chips and scratches.
All that to say, I'm excited to be part of the Fiero Community and look forward to picking your brains about issues that will inevitably come up.

Looks nice, and yes that interior does look very clean. Have a gold 86 myself.

That's awesome. You know, I wasn't sure about the gold at first. But I love it. It's the classic 80's styling that I was really wanting. Besides black, and maybe red, the other Fiero colors don't do what gold does for me. I test drove several 86's, I really wanted the 87 due to the larger fuel tank and upgraded headlight motors.
