EGR Delete Chip (Page 1/2)
Savvycat86 JAN 19, 02:48 AM
Hi my focus this year is to clean up my engine bay & eliminate the unnecessary. I really want to get rid of my EGR, catalytic converter, A/C, disconnect cruise control, & remove the fan at the back of the engine bay. Does anyone know where I can get an EGR Delete chip? I tried Sinister Fiero but they don’t ship to Canada. I live in just outside of Edmonton Alberta Canada. I don’t mind paying extra to get the chip, have had enough EGR & vacuum grief that I just want rid!!! Any suggestions or referrals would be greatly appreciated. I have a 1986 SE 2.8, 4spd.

You must be a fairly young driver if thinking that the AC and cruise control are unnecessary items. :-) I think red devil River still makes EGR delete chips. You can Google that name that should bring you to the website.

Just be sure that when you ask anyone for a EGR delete item you inform them it's for 'off road / racing' purposes only What you do with it when you get it is up to you.

lol! Nope not a young driver, just dealing with a car that has had several owners that altered instead of maintaining or doing the proper fix. My first Fiero was well cared for but this one has every shortcut alteration & cheap cheat you can think of & a few that just make me shake my head. When I picked it up the clutch fluid was so bad it wouldn’t shift, looked & poured like molasses. Several flushes to clean it out, & that was just the beginning, I’m just over $3000.00 into it since purchase July 2024. After a lot of work & thought, I’ve decided to make things as simple as possible. Thanks very much for the info, really appreciate it, will get in touch with them asap!!👍✌️

I’ve spent my life driving Jeeps & old sports cars, used to standards, no A/C, & have never been able to get used to cruise. My first Fiero had power windows & locks & a sunroof…… this one is the same year & model with every option available at the time. Whoever ordered it new spared no expense, it has more options than the 2 Porsches that I had!! In all honesty, the Fiero is a really fun drive, nothing else quite like it

Don't use cruise control on any of my Fieros. They have all been engine swapped and just didn't want the extra work to hook up CC. However, A/C is a different story. During summer we do get 90+* days and I make sure that the A/C works. In 2024 driving to Carlisle it was very hot. Had that AC turned up and it was a comfortable drive out. Attending cruise nights in Somerville and on the weekend cruises the A/C is always used.
