Not that I believe that the Haggerty Price guide is always right ; it looks like they show Fiero prices on a downward spiral. This is great news as you should now be able to buy a Pontiac Fiero for even less than they were just five years ago. If you want to buy a Fiero right now, just remember to tell the seller to sharpen his pencil. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. I'd rather the prices go up. Falling prices don't benefit anyone except for those looking for a cheap car.

Idk im starting to think most of the prices we have seen over the last couple years are from shills in auctions.

Rising prices don't benefit anyone except for those looking to make money off selling a Fiero.

The entire market is down due to the virus right now. Unless it is a one of 5 kind of car most prices are soft.
As for Fiero values higher values would draw more to the brand and get things for us like more restoration parts and return on our investment if we ever had to sell.
To want to see no increase in values is just plain nuts to be polite. These cars are extra depressed in value and could use a little boost just to keep them viable. As it is now most are crushed as they have so little value in the automotive market.
Increased value brings support and supply to the brand.[This message has been edited by hyperv6 (edited 03-19-2021).]

How do higher prices bring more people into Fieros?
Is this a thing where the more expensive/prestigious a car is, the more it is demanded?
For normal commodities, as price increases, demand decreases.

So with that way of thinking you should find spare parts all dried up within the decade and all vendors that supply parts to us right now finishing up before they start. This post is poison and only makes it all worthless. There has never been a time in last 2 decades when you couldn't buy a piece of crap for $1000. What do you get for 10k though and should you be able to buy it for 2k because a piece of crap is worth 1k. If your happy with your 2k car then yes drive it till you kill it but why try kill off everyone elses pride and joy. [This message has been edited by Australian (edited 03-19-2021).]

The information presented here was based upon information supplied by Haggerty , a noted automotive appraiser and printer of classic car price guides. It is NOT my opinion but I agree with it. In their appraisals they show a steady decline in prices over the the past 5 years, meaning that Fieros are worth less now than they were five years ago. I say that this is good news because it will bring more people into the hobby especially the youth. A Pontiac Fiero was never a great investment and that's why many of us got into this hobby in the first place. The reason that the classic Fiero hobby is still healthy is because the cars are still relatively inexpensive. When we attend Fieros at Carlisle this year, our car will be one of over 100 Fieros shown by enthusiasts. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. Normal car collectors will buy and invest in cars they will not lose their shirts on.
Few collectors will buy, restore or invest in cars that are worth nothing.
This has driven the Corvette market for years. The problem now is so many used to buy Corvettes to drive. Today they buy them to sit and see limited use so now there is a flooded market hurting the C5-6 prices.
Auto collecting is not a normal commodities market. Nor are are all Fiero owners or other model owners rational and smart in how they go about it. I have seen some sink a ton of money in a car and they could have bought a much better car than they ended with for the same money.
The key to car collecting is making smart choices and knowing when you are getting in over your head. This applies to any car as these mistakes are not Fiero only.
As for the Fiero hobby it has shown little growth and the values should show some increase over time but we see little. Even a Nash has shown some gain through the years.
The shows now may have 100 cars but they used to have over 200 in the past.
Some of us got into this because they were cheap. Many of us like myself got in because we liked the car. That is the true reason to get involved with a car.
It is ok if you want to save money but not all of us are gee I collect these cars because they are cheap.
I try to respect all the reasons people own but those who hold back a model can test those limits. I don’t expect to get rich but I do hope that my car will show average appreciation over time like most cars and make it of value to collectors in general to see the value in preserving and saving the brand.
I expect the low end cars will vanish over time as they will not be with the repair.[This message has been edited by hyperv6 (edited 03-20-2021).]

Declining prices is generally a bad thing as more and more people will be less willing to spend $ on parts or upgrades to their car as vendors supporting the platform will move on to other platforms.
The same people saying "Great News! Fiero prices are Spiraling down" are the same ones complaining they can't get the specialty parts for their car because the vendors abandoned the Fiero platform.
