Finally got my third Fiero (Page 1/1)

Hi all. After close to 40 years, I finally found my third Fiero. My third car was an '86 2M4, followed by an '87 2M4 a few years later. I'd been looking for a while lately, and finally found a really clean '84 locally. Anyway, here I am.

It was a crank no start. fixed all the previous terrible repairs. Got it running. Fixed the seized slave cylinder, and straightened the clutch master cylinder push rod that some one cave manned. Took it for a ride on Tuesday. I'm excited. Still need to address the horrible cold start, the fuel gauge and the temp gauge. And the brakes. Here she is as I bought her.

Welcome. That is a nice unaltered version of an 84 that you have found. In my opinion, the 84 is the cleanest design of all the model years. Have owned three, two were base models, and still own one that has a 3.8 SC motor. Sounds like you have a handle on getting it back to it's former glory. Enjoy-----!!!

Welcome to PFF and congratulations! Looks very nice and original. I really love the bumper pad notchies. My first Fiero was a 85 SE 2M6 and I really miss that car. Have fun!

Welcome to the Forum!

Where are you located in NC?

Thanks, all. I'm on the coast. Newport, NC.

So far, in addition to the things listed in the original post:

Resealed valve cover and oil pan. New temp sensors. Fixed the fuel level sender, along with a new fuel pump.

Soon, new water pump, thermostat housing, distributor, and idle air control. Oh, and the headlight motors work now!

Hey, it's 40 years old. Stuff keeps breaking.

One thing I can tell you for sure, this car is making me appreciate OBD II. I forgot how much it sucks diagnosing driveability on early EFI cars!
