Canadian Formula Registry (Page 1/2)

Anyone interested in starting a Canadian Z49 Formula registry? There were only 139 but it is probably 25 years too late.
I wonder how many are left and in which provinces.

Just Canadian or all the aftermarket imported? I have three all imported from the US

Sumas WA is not a part of the States?

I imagine many Formulas in Canada were brought up from the States. Mine was originally registered in Knoxville TN, and I acquired it from a Vietnam vet living on Whidbey Island in WA.

I was thinking just Canadian for a start- a lot more manageable #. I also had one from the US

Probably a waste of time... Very few Fieros left in Canada... Most of them have been destroyed by being winter driven or just worn out and scrapped. And only a very small percentage are Formulas. You would probably be lucky to track down 8-10 Formulas... and then have really not much to talk about other than regular Fiero stuff.. Up to you, but I don't really see the point

Lol! Lemme guess. I'll bet you're not a member of The Barrie District Stamp Club...

It would be great if the Department of Transport in each province allowed searches of registered vehicles by year, make, model, etc.
They have data on cars currently in use, which I think would be interesting; the rest that are somewhere decaying or not in use aren't of much interest and would be impossible to track...

Here's my Z49 on the left. 43,000 km; just filled it up today for only the third time this year. Hopefully there'll be more places to go in 2021.

I know you have one David. I wonder if George Zapora would share any info? He must have done some searches for Vintage
Vehicles. I am sure there are probably at least 50% still on the road.

Never underestimate the number Fieros that left Canada.

I own a 1985 SE 2m6 that came from Canada.

In 85 when I bought it there was a truck strike and dealers here had no Fieros. One dealer here in Ohio had 50. I got there and found all the Speedometers had KM on them.

They made a deal with Rumble Pontiac in Toronto to buy up inventory in the Toronto area. They bought them and drove them down.

It was quite common for dealers in northern Ohio to bring in Hard to find cars from Canada. I expect the same happened in other boarder states.

I have found a number of Fieros in junk yards with the metric dash. I saved a dash from a 88 GT.

A number of Fieros went both ways.

There were only a few hundred like my car. Really means little as it is not like the 7 1969 Trans Am Convertibles that have much more demand.
