kind of makes you wonder about the ebay fieros showing up with 20K miles, and the interiors look like 120K!

Ya there's been some ultra low mile examples over the year's with the oddest 'wear' areas like steering wheel, bolster, carpet, pedal(s) etc..
I looked at one in Chicago an '88 Formula with supposedly 7k miles where the doors dropped down as soon as they were opened and had high wear on parts.
Can't stand thieves.

One would have to be pretty naive to trust the odometer on a 30+ year old car, especially if it has had multiple owners. It's not exactly hard to roll back or switch the odometer, or unplug a speed sensor and drive the car for a few years without the speedo.
I look at condition of the car, not the mileage. On newer cars with digital odometers, it is even easier to roll it back. All you need is a shady guy with a laptop and the right software....

While I could never do it as it is unethical, illegal and a form of theft; I once took apart my speedometer to fix the reset on the trip odometer and the OD mechanism on a Fiero looks so simple to turn back. IMO, the best way to examine a Fiero for mileage wear is just to check the engine, the frame for rust, the seats, the rug, and the interior parts for wear. If it is really low mileage it may have the original tires and you can easily check the tread wear on those. If not check the date of manufacture on the tires. Point is buyer beware. I have heard of another way to verify mileage is to check the pedal pads. Mileage cheaters will sometimes miss this detail. Kit

New pedal pads are a sign of trouble too. Sometimes cheating is hard work.....
