dohcfiero.com domain being abandoned (Page 1/2)
crazyd SEP 29, 11:30 AM
I've been carrying the dohcfiero.com domain for about 15 years now and I have no idea why, but I am not renewing it this year. Contact me if you're interested in taking it over. Make it quick as it expires 10/1.

Let it drop it has no value. I own hundreds of domains. Wasn't a bad site btw.

I've been maintaining it as a repository of all the info to build a 3.4 DOHC in a Fiero. I never built one and I'm not maintaining it anymore, so if someone else wants to take it I am giving it all away for free.

So what are the monthy/yearly expenses? (I know nothing about this.)

A dot com domain name is around $20 a year for the registration but that just gives you the name, you still have to host the actual site somewhere.

A lot of the 'free' site builder sites lke wordpress and wix will offer packages where can refegister a domain name and host your site all in one place but what I usually do is to register my own domain name and then have the registry entry just redirect it to a free wordpress site or to my own server at home (which is why my site is offline right now because my server is powered off).

I just opened and copied a lot of data from that site just last week. Still has a lot of great stuff on it.

....

Thanks for the response. I am not in a position to take it over. Too much going on here, just now, for me to even consider that "learning curve".
I hope that Chris got it before it was too late.

Mind if I PM you about the ins and outs of owning a bunch of domains?
