Some departments of a company have to focus on making cars that can be easily manufactured for cheap... but I think it is a good thing to have a separate department that builds wild projects without having to worry about the practicalities of things.
You never know what can happen! That's why you need open-minded management folks who aren't focused on calculating a return on investment.

Might dig up some of the Pontiac Magazines around the time of Johns death. He detailed out the car and how Dunn got the photos. It was just a set up. The car never came close to production. It also used a shortened Tempest platform and interior parts. The Emissions killed this before it ever got started. Jim was being very optimistic it would be built. The Original Fiero was a Firebird Aero Concept shoe car. FI rebird aERO concept is where the name came from. Which makes the story of how Pontiac came up with the name from an Italian dictionary a bit suspect since they already owned the name.
No this car does not exist today. To be honest many at GM never even knew of this car.
