I have a 2001 Volvo with the 2.3l i5 turbo. The running gear and auto trans are in pretty rough shape but the engine is good. I'd like to know if anyone has experience with the i5 and how hard it might be to get it in my '88. My Fiero is an i4 with a 5spd manual, and I can get a manual Volvo transmission.

Is that a transverse setup? I have no Volvo experience but you need to do some careful measuring to see if it will fit. Being an I5 it might be tight width wise.

It is transverse, and the manual transmission is a FWD transaxle.
