Not sure I would want it I would want more performance rather than similar as it really doesn't perform any better. I would want some power after market turbo it might be alright.

Say what you will, the Italians can build a great looking engine.

Just think what it would do at Monterey if you had that engine in a Mera..........With "F*I*E*R*O" lettered on the valve covers! (Mu-haha.....)

Seeing Those numbers on HP and torque makes you think Pontiac could have easily bought some turbo 3800s from Buick and easily smoked the Ferraris. Hell, charge $30k for it in the 80s and it still would have been half of the Ferrari price tag. But can't beat the Bette... No.

That is why I would consider it with a turbo and could make it look like a Ferrari factory fitted.
This is one of my favourite Ferraris not because it is my actual favourite but because someone made a budget car awesome.

IMO, the choice of an engine for a swap must be judged by a value of cost vs horsepower, torque, drivability, and mileage. Other criteria to consider is reliability, maintenance and cost of repair. If all of this is taken into consideration would it pay to have a Ferrari engine in a Fiero?
