While going through my parts, looking for something else, I came across a GM parts box with a heater fan ballast. When I took it out of the box I immediately noticed that it only had 2 coils, unlike all the ballasts I've seen that have 3 coils. It has the 3 terminals and the same bolt mounting points, but only 2 coils.
Did any level of Fiero ever come with a 2 or 3 speed HVAC system? This part was obtained in a truckload of Fiero things I purchased many years ago. ------------------ Last night I went to a prayer meeting and a high school football game broke out.

Thanks. The guy I bought the stuff from only dealt with Formulas so I was a little puzzled by it. I suppose Formulas were also available w/o AC. The base 88 Duke I had had aftermarket AC but I don't remember how many speeds. It didn't have AC buttons but had a position on the function slider for AC.

Yes. Most pictures are 4 speed / 3 coils when covering clean the box to prevent fires. Because Fiero AC/heat box traps a lot of crap there vs. heat only. see http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/141959.html to see inside both boxes w/ resistor packs.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
