Been driving around Burlington all summer and the closest I've come is seeing one broken down in a driveway in Mississauga, and a guy driving one out near Kitchener.
None I've seen in Toronto either or even at the Regular Car Reviews meetup a couple months ago.
Where are you guys? Must be a few around somewhere!

Well there are a few of around. I can think of at least 5 of us old guys still doing the Fiero thing but it's dropped off dramatically in the last 7 or 8 years. Oddly enough I don't really know any one under say 50 still in the game. Many of the old crowd had been involved for years but have since moved on to other interests.

I'm 19 and by far the youngest that I've seen with a Fiero.
A million guys who will come up to me though and go "Damn, I used to have one of those! It was my first car!"
Dying breed of owners around here I suppose. Trying to keep the car alive as best I can, and learn from the Forum while doing it.

I'm in Fort Erie. I have 2 Fieros and in my mid 30's. I had a 3rd one but I sold it this summer.
There is a Niagara Fiero group and a "Ontario" Fiero group that was previously the Greater Toronto Group.
I'm not too active with them but I do follow them online.
I don't really do shows although I have seen some Fiero's at local shows.
We are around, just not as common as they once were.[This message has been edited by FieroMontreal (edited 10-16-2019).]

There's my three.
Check www.niagarafieros.com IIRC, we had 19 for an early summer tour around Niagara & 17 at the Warplane Heritage Museum.
Ontario Fieros is on WhatsApp. There were a couple of outings East and North of Toronto & 6 of us went to Carlisle Pennsylvania for the GM Nationals. There were 60+ other Fieros there; some young guys & a young lady owner as well.
There are usually a couple of Fieros at the big events in the Hamilton & Niagara areas.[This message has been edited by David Hambleton (edited 10-16-2019).]

I'm one of the organizers for Ontario Fieros, we've just had a Fall Colours Cruise in Durham/ The Kawarthas that had 9 Fieros attend. I think we had 16 at the Wasaga/Tiny Beach cruise.
Heck we even won best club attendance at Fieros at Carlisle this year, I think we had 6 cars represent there.
Niagara Fieros also attended a show at the Hamilton Air Museum and had 16 Fieros there.
We're getting a good resurgence of active people in Ontario, our Facebook group has gone up 70+ members since January. You just have to be connected to the right groups/channels.
A bunch also usually attend cruise nights in Bolton as well as Canadian Tire Queensway in Etobicoke. Though I think most of the formal stuff has wrapped up for the season.
Ontario Fieros will probably host a winter dinner, just to break up winter a bit.

Where would you guys say the best place is to keep informed on Fiero events and meetups in the area?

Join the local "Whatsapp" group. Send me a PM with your phone number and we can add you, or you can send to Luke and he will do the same. He is funny looking and was abandoned by his parents when he was born because he was 8' tall and hairy as a newborn, but he is very knowledgeable and helpful with advice.
Since you are young and this is your first car, I am assuming this is also your winter car? Unfortunately driving these cars in the salt, especially given the age, is a very quick way destroy it underneath... saly is absolutely the worst thing you can expose the frame, floors, suspension, cradle, etc ... If you must drive it in the winter, at least try to get it oil sprayed first, any exposed metal, and inspect the rear frame rails and cradle to make sure the car is safe to drive.
The 84 4 banger is pretty simple to work on, so by joining the group, we can all pitch in with suggestions and advice. Parts are mostly dirt cheap, often free. Key thing is to know the right people and do research instead of just taking it to a mechanic who may not be familiar with the car and will charge you and arm and a leg to try and figure it out or find parts for it.
How do you know it is a vacuum leak? Is the idle consistently too high? There are other possible reasons for that. Is the check engine light on?[This message has been edited by cam-a-lot (edited 10-17-2019).]
