Has anyone tried this as a repair for broken plastic pieces. Was it durable over time. Will it last in sun exposure?

I have seen super glue and powdered glass work very well, but the bonding surfaces need to be clean and roughed up.

I was watching a YouTube video where a guy was repairing old computer equipment dashboard hinges with this method. Worked really well and I immediately thought ashtray lid hinge!
