Wonder what they did to the engine to "increase the horsepower 78%"

I kept scrolling down the page hoping to see some particulars about how they increased the HP to 250, but no.
EDIT: Brendan types faster than I do![This message has been edited by css9450 (edited 09-11-2019).]

I watched the video (The pic with the guy in it is a video) and he states that it is now a 3.1 L engine- still, you would be hard pressed to get that engine up to 250 without a turbo....It is a good looking car, but the price is very high for a non-88 fiero...I wish the wheels were an inch narrower and in a bit so the tires weren't stretched to the max......

Along the same lines... I don't like extremely low profile (rubber band) tires. Unless the suspension is lowered considerably, large tire/fender gaps are created (even with 18" wheels), especially in the back. Not my preference at all.

Originally, the posting ststed that the HP had been doubled. I corresponded with the guy a bit, and informed him that the stock HP was 140. Obviously, he made the correction to 78%.
Here was a reply from him:

Maybe they're charging a premium for the various "mods" the car has. The cold air intake, the black-painted dashboard trim, the aftermarket stereo, the amps. The shifter console looks like its been painted too. Perfect perhaps for those who want exactly those mods but for the rest of us who don't, its an additional expense to fix (for example, we've all seen hacked up wiring for various stereo systems, etc, etc).[This message has been edited by css9450 (edited 09-12-2019).]

I agree, to fill out wheel wells, the wheel size has nothing at all to do with it. What fills out the wheel wells is taller sidewall tires. Whats normally done to keep auto trans shifting and speedo working correctly, if you upsize the wheel like from 14" to 18", you have to downsize the tire sidewall with lower profile tires to keep the overall circumference the same. Now if you you keep the same tire sidewall height, but on a larger rim, it WILL fill out the wheel well...BUT auto trans will shift wrong, speedo will be way off and you effectively change the final drive ratio. Old style muscle car tires had maybe a 5-6 inch sidewall height, and more modern low profile tires car be as small as 2 inches, or rubber bands as you call them.
The lower profile tires are great for handling because you lessen the sidewall flexing in turns, but it kills comfort as there is little sidewall/air to cushion the ride. Modern cars that use low profile tires usually have the suspension, like springs and shocks, profiled to work with with them. Pre 90s cars that used taller tires were designed for those too. An 80s car with a 2019 low profile tire...and no suspension changes... rides like a dump truck. they have to work together...and you have to decide your own balance between ride and control.
On hp mods. My Ferrari kit had a built up 3.1 with a turbocharger. I forget if it had 250 or 275 hp...it was like 15 years ago. The engine was built by a professional race shop. Fastest I had it was 177 (on a modified 200 mph speedo & Sheriff friends radar gun) on a 10 mile straight stretch of interstate with center and berm concrete dividers.

A claim of 250 HP from the 2.8L V6 is a tall claim. If considering a buy, I would ask to see the dyno test that supports that. As for those low profile tires, the ride has to be terrible. The 17's on my Fiero are the same OD as stock tires and they caused it to ride rougher than before. They are 215/45 x 17 R and 205/45 x17 front. I can't imagine what the ride is like with those low profile 18" tires ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite.
