Cleaning the Fiero Gas Tank? (Page 1/1)

I dropped my tank to do the fuel pump. It's turned into new fuel rails, new sending unit, and paint the tank. What should I do for the inside though? There are no holes, but a lot of rust residue. Do I just clean the tank, or should I seal it? I keep hearing about the KBS kit, although I can't find anything on whether that works with the plastic piece inside the Fieoe tank.

I'd like to know what everyone did when they dropped their tanks.

I checked to see if the tank was damaged from the fall.

Replaced the fuel fuller hose, the sending usit, pump, strainer, seal, and lock. Also cleaned the connector on the firewall.

plenty more threads on this if you need them.....but I like the Fieroguru approach in this thread.

If you want to seal it, remember that preparation is the key. If you miss a step, the sealer is going to fail.
