| Whats the safest way to remove A and B pillar trim? (Page 1/1) |

Time to reinforce the headliner board and do a new headliner. Its a perfect Beechwood interior so I want to keep the plastic tabs from being broken. Whats the best way to reface the pillar trims without breaking the tabs? Also, is there a "How To" on doing the resin reinforcement of the headliner board?

I can't offer any help with the trim removal, I broke a tab on one of mine.
I can help if one should get broken. The trim is ABS plastic and ABS pipe cement works great. I first used the ABS cement on the break to glue the tab back on, after it was dry I built up small fillets on the sides of the break area. I also used the ABS cement to glue one of the metal holders for the plastic clips on the windshield section on the A pillar trim. Mine has been removed twice since the repair and the repaired parts are still as strong as ever.

Thanks guys. I still can't really tell how the trim her the window releases. When i have the backer board out I would like to do the resin reinforcement of it. That way it should last forever(wish).

After releasing the tabs along the top of the door, slide the a-pillar trim upwards to get it off of the plastic clips that anchor it to the windshield pillar.
Use a small screwdriver to carefully release the lever on the windshield pillar clips.
It is an art to remove them without breaking.....
